It’s time for fall fun! Hooray for pumpkins, hayrides and corn mazes! Wondering where to take the kids to a pick out the most awesome pumpkin and to snap some sweet fall family photos? Here’s our annual round-up of favorite pumpkin patches around Austin!



–> Barton Hill Farms

Every weekend from September 26 – November 8, 2015, this farm in Bastrop will hold a Fall Festival & Corn Maze where the kids can get lost in a 5-acre corn maze, play in a frontier fort or climb on the giant shipwrecked sandbox. Hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 10 pm. and Sundays, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. They also have a giant jumping pillow and a barrel train for the kids to ride. Concessions like cotton candy and kettle corn are sold, as well as food like hot dogs, roasted corn and chicken tenders. General Admission will get you access to the grounds and the maze and is $8 for ages 3 – 10 and $11 for 11 and up. An Adventure Pass will give you access to the grounds and the maze, as well as unlimited access to the jumping pillow and barrel trail for an extra $5. Save $1 if you buy online.



–> Elgin Christmas Tree Farm
The farm will be open for October Fun on weekdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the 1st and 4th weekends of October (Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. & Sundays from 12 – 5 p.m.). For $6 (for ages 2 and up), you get access to a hayride, animals to visit, mazes, rubber duck races, mini pumpkin decorating, playgrounds, picnic areas, pumpkin photo ops and hay jumps. A Kiddie Train Ride is available on weekends. Their Open House will take place on Monday, October 12 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with $6 admission for ages 2 and up. Their Pumpkin Festival will take place on the 2nd and 3rd weekends in October (on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12 – 5 p.m.). The admission price for the Pumpkin Festival is $6 for kids ages 2 – 12 and $8 for 13 and up. Parents can enjoy the live music (and eating great food) while the kids stay busy decorating pumpkins, competing in the duck races and playing on the playground.



–> Evergreen Farms
In the month of October, every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and every Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m., Evergreen Farms in Elgin will be open for the Pumpkin Hunt where admission is FREE. You’ll get a wagon ride around the farm, access to a toddler play area, pumpkin recipes, pumpkin decorating (with purchase of pumpkin), a bean bag toss and a petting zoo. There are also other activities like a pumpkin hunt, pumpkin launcher, pumpkin maze, pumpkin slide, train ride, pumpkin golf and more for $2.50 per ticket. For $5 you can ride an authentic pumper fire truck around the farm.

–> Silo Christmas Tree Farm

This Pumpkin Patch in Temple is open every Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free, but canned food or a monetary donation for Helping Hands Ministry is appreciated. All the fun stuff can be purchased via $1 tickets and activities include a kiddie train ride, pasture games and maze, duck races, hayrides, bouncy houses, a chance to feed the farm animals, pumpkin painting and pony rides. Food like hot dogs, BBQ, sausage wraps and nachos will be for sale, too.

–> Sweet Berry Farm

This Marble Falls farm offers the Fall Fun Harvest, open from September 26 – November 8, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., except for Sundays when the hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and take note that they are CLOSED EVERY WEDNESDAY. There is no admission cost. You just pay for the activities you want to do or the pumpkins you choose. Activities include hayrides, a train, a maze, sand art, horse rides, stuff a scarecrow, face painting, giant jumping pillows and homemade ice cream made with the goods from the farm. Prices for activities range from $2.50 – $5, except Scarecrow Stuffing, which costs $16.50 per ‘crow’. More info on pricing here.

–> The Jersey Barnyard

This Pumpkin Patch in LaGrange is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday from from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m. From the last weekend in September through October, they will have pumpkins, squash, gourds, decorative corn and corn stalks. Free pumpkin painting is available with the purchase of a pumpkin. Families can also take a tour of the farm which includes feeding animals, milking a cow and a hay ride. You can also take a self-guided tour for $3.

–> South Texas MaiZE

This one is a couple of hours away in Hondo, Texas, but it looks like the mother of all pumpkin patches. The season is open through November 15, 2015. South Texas Maize is open Friday evenings from 5 – 9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon – 5 p.m.. Admission is $14 and includes unlimited jumps on their bounce pillows, a cow train, a worm slide, a goat walk, campfires with s’mores, hayrides, and more.

–> Red Barn Garden Center

Their pumpkins will arrive the last week of September at this Austin location. Their fall festival will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  This free event will feature a moon bounce and a petting zoo and more.

–> Cross Plants and Produce

You can look for pumpkins in this Kyle location starting on October 1, 2015. The Pumpkin Patch will be open on weekdays (except Mondays) from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., with free activities on weekends such as storytimes. Kids can also enjoy visiting animals, painting pumpkins and having fun in their play area.

–> More Great Pumpkin Patches:

— Tarrytown United Methodist Church: The Pumpkin Patch will open for business on October 11, 2015 and will be open daily until the pumpkins run out. The patch is known as a great place for family photos. Call for hours: 512-472-3111.

— ACTS Church Lakeway: The Pumpkin Patch will open to the community on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. All profits from the pumpkin sales fund local and global mission projects.

— Kings of Kings Lutheran Church in Round Rock: The Pumpkin Patch will begin Monday, October 11, 2015 after 3 p.m. and then on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 12-8 p.m.  A Fall Festival will be held on October 31, 2015 from 12-2 p.m.

— Austin Oaks Church: Their Pumpkin Patch will open on October 12-31, 2015. The hours are Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., Saturday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and the only Sunday it will be open is October 25 from 1:30-7 p.m. For more information, call 512-891-1600. All of the proceeds from pumpkin sales will go to Redeemed Ministries to help stop Human Trafficking in the Austin Area.

— St. John’s United Methodist Church:  The Pumpkin Patch will be open on October 13, 2015, daily until the pumpkins sell out. For more information, you can call 512-452-5737.

— St. Mark United Methodist Church: Their Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. with games, music, bounce house, and their pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch will remain open daily ’til approximately 7 p.m. through October 31.

— Bethany Lutheran Church: The pumpkin patch will be open October 11-31, 2015, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.  daily. They will also host a Fall Festival on Sunday, October 25 from 3-6 p.m.

— Bethany United Methodist Church: This Pumpkin Patch will be open October 5-31, 2015. The hours are Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. For more info, you can call 512-258-6017.
