Sun International launches SunStriker with the sun in its pocket
Sun International simulates all the excitement and anticipation of New Year as it counts down to the switch-on of its thrilling, new and exclusive Wide Area Progressive Jackpot, SunStriker, on Tuesday, 23 September 2014.
At 20h00 sharp, with parties of expectant people watching and waiting, a total of 170 SunStriker slot machines will go live at Sun International’s 12 South African casinos countrywide.
These include Carnival City in Brakpan, Gauteng where the proverbial “big switch-on” will be done, sending a ripple throughout the country as SunStriker goes live at each site. Each dedicated bank of SunStriker-themed slots is linked across all of Sun International’s South African casinos so that players around the country can compete for another one of the biggest-paying and fastest-growing jackpots in the land.
Following on the success of Duma, launched in March 2013, SunStriker offers the chance to win a minimum jackpot of R750 000.

SunStriker, developed exclusively for Sun International by Simplicit-e Gaming Solutions, is all about a Mayan warrior whose golden hammer strikes the base of a Magic Temple to give lucky players the chance of winning the mega jackpot. Players get a stab at the mega-sized jackpot for as little as R5, with bet value options up to R15.
Players simply insert their MVG cards, load money to the machine via the Card or the Bill Validator, select their preferred bet value, and start playing.
The game has three Jackpot Levels. The level 1 Jackpot, the SunStrike, is a minimum R750 000 and increases until someone hits it. The Level 2 Jackpot, SupaStrike, is R150 000, and the Level 3 Jackpot, the MiniStrike, is R25 000. Simple to play, SunStriker also has a “Help” button where players can quickly access the game rules.
