OXFORD – Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has completed his coaching staff with the announcement of Tray Scott as defensive line coach.

Scott comes to Ole Miss from North Carolina where he served as the Tar Heels’ defensive line coach the last two seasons. He replaces Chris Kiffin, who left to join his brother Lane Kiffin as defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic.

Scott played college football at Arkansas Tech. He was a graduate assistant with Freeze at Arkansas State and later at Ole Miss in 2012.

The Tar Heels ranked in the top 50 in scoring defense and red zone defense this season.

“With the experience he gained as a coach and recruiter since his first stint here Tray will bring great leadership and energy to our defensive line and allow us to continue our success at that positon,” Freeze said in a news release.
