Hi there! Just a quick post today, but I really wanted to share something fun that I thought you might be interested in, the Curvy Kate Star in a Bra model search! If you're not familiar with Curvy Kate, they are a British lingerie company that believes in showing that beauty is found in all women, regardless of size or shape. They also have amazing bras and other lady-wear in gorgeous styles and colors in sizes for us D-cup and up girls. They're only carried in a few US stores (list here), but they do sell via Amazon, Bare Essentials, Simply Be, etc (online stores here). And now that I think about it, I actually kinda do need to get new bras soon.. hmm. Might have to remedy that! ;)
Anyway, Curvy Kate sent me an email letting me know that they are once again holding their model search competition, and this is what they have to say about it:

Championing fuller-busts, Curvy Kate are once again going across the pond, to North America for their annual
Star in a Bra competition which seeks to find a naturally curvy woman to represent
the lingerie brand. After seven successful competitions in the UK, Australia and North
America, Star in a Bra will be open for entries for the second time in North
America on 3rd September 2013. The search launched to shake up the
modelling world and the ideas of beauty whilst giving the opportunity to all
women to prove how good the curvy figure looks in lingerie.
A key event in any curvy girl's diary, the Star in a Bra search is run
through the brand's Facebook page and encourages D plus, charismatic girls to enter the competition to be
in with a chance of securing an incredible 12-month modelling contract with
Curvy Kate. As well as becoming the next face and body of the award-winning
brand, the winner will also receive a year’s supply of gorgeous Curvy Kate
lingerie to treat her curves to.
With the public demanding the use of more
realistic images in the media, the Star in a Bra
competition champions the use of curvaceous role models and promotes a positive
approach to body image, which every woman can relate to. Showing how Curvy
Kate’s lingerie ranges look on a fuller bust and shapely frame gives a true
representation of how the product fits and supports larger bust lines. The pioneering
model search strives to celebrate healthy figures, a positive body image and
diversity. There is no age, size or height limits which means anyone can
enter as Curvy Kate believe a variety of looks should be shown in the media,
for all women to relate to.
Curvy Kate's Marketing and PR Manager, Hannah Houston comments, "We

girls who will be buying it. Our model search is here to prove how gorgeous a
shapely figure looks in lingerie. We have found a great mix of models since the

would look on a shape similar to them. We’re really looking forward to welcoming on board another gorgeous girl
from North America!"
Last year’s North
America winner, Krista Cousins 25, said “The best thing about Curvy Kate’s
Star in a Bra competition is that my body type is appreciated and not ridiculed
as in some other modelling. Also it’s so cool to really represent and stand for
something, I’m sort of a symbol in that way and it makes me feel proud!”
With over 3000 entrants in previous years of the competition the search looks
set to see an even bigger response with the brand now being sold in specialty
shops nationwide, including online retail giant BareNecessities, FreshPair, HerRoom and Amazon.
Curvy Kate D - K cup lingerie is designed for fun, flirty girls with a fuller bust
and desire for fashion. Utilising gorgeous, fashion-conscious designs and
clever engineering, the brand offers variety and flattering, colourful styles
normally only seen in smaller cup sizes. Bras retail from $65 to $75.
You can enter the competition on the Curvy Kate Facebook page, but make sure you do so soon as the competition lasts only 4 weeks. Time's a tickin', girls! The winner will be announced later this fall on November 21.
