We’re starting this round at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant!
“…It came from the snack bar”
The House-made Sci-Fi Candy Bar has hit the dessert menu: a white and dark chocolate mousse layered between sponge cake and dipped in chocolate ganache.

There have been a couple of additions to 50’s Prime Time Café as well.

Another vegetarian entrée has been added to the menu: Sissy’s Vegetarian Favorite Multigrain Spaghetti! “Vegetable Protein and Mushrooms tossed in Marinara Sauce, just like Spaghetti and Meatballs.”
And don’t forget dessert! All your favorites remain, but Old-fashioned Handmade Milk Shakes are listed, featuring the famous “Peanut Butter & Jelly” and the limited time “Red Velvet Cupcake.”

Okay, this next update isn’t about food… it’s just next to food . But I couldn’t resist sharing it! Next time you grab a Shaved Ice at Prince Eric’s Village Market, you’ll also be able to pay a visit to King Triton.

Directly across from Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid (and as part of the area’s Disney Vacation Club kiosk), this enormous tribute to Triton offers up some fantastic photo opps. But what really fascinated me was the little area behind the statue.

This artisan’s workshop showcases the sketches and carved mockups of what will eventually be the artist’s final products.

The details are stunning, especially considering that many will pass right by on their way to the attraction (like I nearly did). But it’s worth a stop if you’re a fan of Disney details!
And, heck, while we’re there… here are a few more glimpses of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as those construction walls continue to come down and reveal more and more of what’s in store!

We spotted this cool specialty drink stand along the path toward Asia (coming from Africa — you can see the Monkey playground in the background). Now, it was an unusually busy day in Animal Kingdom, so we’re not sure if it’s permanent — and clearly, it’s mobile .

No matter what, it’s got some great-sounding offerings: The Glacier (Raspberry Vodka blended with lemonade) and Kali River Tea (Captain Morgan Spiced Rum over Iced Tea).

Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World
Downtown Disney has kicked off its epic 11-day celebration of St. Patrick’s Day with the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival! Previously, the event was headquartered at Raglan Road Irish Pub, but this year, it has expanded to include the entire Downtown Disney area.

We’ve already told you a bit about the food and fantastic entertainment line up you can expect. New this year, guests can take in performances on three separate stages — the Raglan Road Patio Stage, the Raglan Road Pub Stage, and the Ring of Kerry Stage located at Westside.

But we can’t wait to see what Chef Kevin Dundon has in store for the Lunch Demonstration and Signature Dinner that he’ll be hosting!

In addition to entertainment, there will be lots of family friendly fun as well, including stilt walkers, face painting, and dance workshops. Also, Disney has just announced the Mighty Family Fun Zone, presented by Muppets Most Wanted, which will include a place to draw your favorite Muppet Friends.
Many of the Downtown Disney restaurants will be getting into the spirit too, with specially-themed cocktails, like the Cuban Leprechaun Mojito at Bongos, or the Fiddler’s Dream at Portobello Restaurant.
Be sure to pick up a Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Passport for all the fun details!
Don’t forget to save room for special dishes as well. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Downtown Disney’s Superstar Catering Food Truck is offering Epcot Food and Wine Festival favorite Fisherman’s Pie from the Ireland Booth. Yum!

Speaking of food trucks, the Epcot-themed World Showcase of Flavors Food Truck is cross-promoting the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival right now.

The festival, which opened March 5, is once again showcasing tempting treats in a selection of Outdoor Kitchens situated around the World Showcase Promenade. (See our full review here.) So if it’s on your list to hit up Epcot for a Piggylicious Cupcake or some Shrimp and Grits — great news! You can skip the Epcot entrance and head to Downtown Disney instead!

But Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District has news of its own — the long anticipated location of Starbucks will open for business on Monday, March 10!

This one looks like it will be a purely Starbucks experience, since it won’t be taking over an established location, like Market House in Disneyland. Stay tuned! We’ll bring you all the details about the new store soon!

Finally, we’d like to thank DFB Reader Jeff B. for sharing a few notes with us from his trip to the beautiful Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge: “The Buffalo strip once served at Artist Point is now a three meat combo of buffalo steak, venison loin, and wild game sausage.”

Also, the popular “Berry Cobbler is now served in a small ramekin and has a scoop of blackberry ice cream on top instead of the traditional vanilla.”
