In case you have not heard the news or seen the latest Prinny Bomb Newsletter; the original Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories set to be rereleased as PS2 classics on the PSN Store! Disgaea; Hour of Darkness will be released first on January 15th, 2013. As with other PS2 classics, Disgaea; Hour of Darkness is the original version of the game. It will have the original voice acting and some tracks like "One with the Stars" and "The Invasion from Within" that were not included with the remake versions. I would reccommend getting the handheld versions since it includes more features such as skipping animations(so you don't have to watch Winged Slayer a thousand times) If you don't have a handheld(PSP or DS/3DS) and want to experience the original Disgaea, you can pick this up for $9.99 on the PSN Store under the PS2 Classics section.
Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories will be released one week later, on January 22th, 2013. It is the original PS2 version and lacks the new features added in Dark Hero Days. If you have the same reasons for downloading Disgaea 1 on PSN, you may want to consider picking this up as well. It is also $9.99 like most PS2 classics. Ten dollars is a lot of value for your money considering Disgaea 1 and 2 have hundreds and hundreds of gameplay hours.
