DENVER BREWERS JOB DISCRIPTION

Position Summary:*

We are hiring for a brewer to run the operations at the 10 Barrel Denver pub location. We are looking for an individual who identifies with the 10 Barrel motto “brew beer, drink beer, have fun doing it”. The individual should also be highly motivated and have an extensive recipe book.

The brewer will participate in all facets of brewhouse and cellar operations and including but not limited to wort production, yeast management, record keeping, QA/QC testing and fermentation management. Efficiently operates all brewing equipment including the brew house, cleaning equipment, milling equipment, and all other support equipment in the brewery.*Will work with the management staff to ensure the highest quality beer experience.

Responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to:

• Ability to work at variable times to get the job done

• Maintain neat and accurate production logs. Completing all necessary paperwork

with attention to detail

• Keep all work areas clean and organized!

• Staff education

• Able to work in a wet environment

• Communicate efficiently with all brewery staff and management

• Active member of product development

• Perform quality control and quality assurance testing

• Actively find improvements for the beer and our processes

• Able to lift 55 lbs. to 65 lbs. repeatedly

• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day

• Have excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

• Work with prescribed cleaning chemicals, based upon established protocol, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements

• Maintain sanitary standards for the microbial integrity of the beer

• Development of new beer recipes

• Maintain established quality parameters within the raw material handling, brewing, and cellar

• Draft system knowledge and troubleshooting

• Perform routine maintenance of brewing equipment

• Represent the company at beer oriented events

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Degree in Fermentation Science or completion of brewing-science program

• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At minimum, two years’ experience working in a brewery

• Aptitude with Microsoft Excel and Word

• Troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

• Self-motivation as well as the ability to work efficiently as part of a team

• Multitasking and time management skills
