National Accounts Representative:

Left Hand Brewing Company is growing and we are searching for an outstanding candidate to fill our National Accounts Representative Sales positon. The position will be preferably located in Colorado, but we are open to locations near a major airport and where our beer is distributed. The focus of this position is to increase Left Hand Brewery’s efforts in all in key national and regional chain accounts. Up to 40% of your time spent is in the marketplace.

Requirements or preferred experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business; related discipline or equivalent work experience.

• Proven success with key accounts with a consumer products company (preferably in the beer industry)

• Position requires basic knowledge and skills in the following areas: Selling Skills, Business Understanding, Category Management, Analysis, Planning and Execution and Organizational Development.

• Selling Skills - Possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to execute Fact Based Solution Selling.

• Business Understanding - possesses knowledge of retail delivery and impact of distributor operations on retail. i.e. - knowledge of the dynamics of the retail channel (bar/tavern vs. hotel) and key customer needs (service, brand portfolio, POS merchandising, consumer promotions, etc) and experience in retail call-in account promotions and how distributors service the retail channel. Possesses basic business financial and supporting analytical skills.

• Category Management - possesses basic knowledge about the beer industry and Craft Brewers category management tactics - i.e. understand the role of craft beer in off-premise and on-premise accounts.

• Analysis, Planning and Execution - possesses basic analysis, objective setting, tracking and measuring abilities for low-complexity applications with short term planning horizons. Has the ability to access and analyze information from various sources, reach conclusions and provide input into larger planning processes. Has the ability to access and manipulate data sources (ie. VIP, IRI) and use Microsoft Office applications including e-mail and PowerPoint effectively.

• Organization Development - Has the ability to interact effectively in one-on-one situations with co-workers and customers. Demonstrates approachability, composure and customer focus. Demonstrates leadership and influencing skills to influence distributor and retailer actions.

General Responsibilities:

Brewery Education

• Be the Left Hand Champion in all marketplaces, having a firm understanding of, and be able to explain in detail, the company’s history, community involvement, beer portfolio and short- and long-term vision.

• Explain the long-term growth and profit potential of the craft beer industry, specifically Left Hand.

• Disseminate information to accounts about upcoming beer launches, seasonal releases, brewery initiatives, Point-of-Sale, etc.

Organizational

• Manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner.

• Maintain a weekly/bi-weekly planner of goals and distributor/account calls.

• Be familiar with draft system dynamics and have the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.

• Be fluent and current in each state’s liquor license codes and regulations.

• Utilize all sales-related software (i.e. VIP, Karma, Concur, Trip Cubby, etc.) on a regular basis as requested by the National Accounts Manager..

Sales and Reporting

• Communicates all pricing, beer, and promotion information to accounts.

• Increases sales and market share in assigned accounts by expanding distribution, secures brand promotions, improves POS utilization and other tactical measures.

• In conjunction with Sales Team and Distributor Partner (DP) network, executes plans to achieve retail execution objectives.

• Ensures appropriate LHBC departments and DP personnel are informed of chain account activity and needs with adequate lead time to generate successful execution.

• Communicates changes to sales trends and new authorizations to appropriate LHBC departments for use in production forecasting.

• Acts as a liaison between the national accounts team and other departments, sharing key information that enables the best decisions to be made in the appropriate timeframe.

Account Services

• Represent Left Hand Brewing Company in the retail trade as the first point of contact for the brewery.

• Establish regular contact and build relationships with key decision makers at Key Accounts, both on and off premise, in order to gain sales and distribution.

• Work closely with each distributor’s key account managers in each market On and Off Premise.

• Basic Computer software proficiency (MS Office suite; sales tracking tools)

• You have the ability to travel on a frequent basis and flexibility to work late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays to support sales activities

• You have good record keeping and business communication skills

• You are familiar with many aspects of the brewing industry and the beer distribution industry

This position reports directly to our National Accounts Manager.

This is a full time salaried position with benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan, ESOP, paid time off and of course world class beer. Rate of Pay: DOE. Proud to be an EOE.
