Howdy Everyone,

We have an immediate opening for an assistant brewer position at Community Beer Co. in Dallas, TX.

Sadly, one of the greatest employees I’ve ever had, Riggs Broderick, is leaving our team at Community. I hired Riggs after meeting him laying wood floors in my house, taking a pretty big gamble on this guy. His contribution to our brewery since we began has been enormous: from making all of our tap handles and bar to mastering cellar and brewhouse operations. The shoes to be filled are large! He is an excellent case in point that previous professional brewing experience is not required to learn how to operate a brewery.

That being said, the ideal candidate will have previous brewery experience, however this is not absolutely necessary. Professional brewing course completion would also be ideal. Being a fast learner, technically inclined and handy is a must. We work long hours and the schedule is sometimes erratic, but we have a fantastic team and the morale is always high.

We have a pretty lean ship here, and we all chip in with what needs to be done. Therefore this position will involve pretty much all of the work in the brewery: cellar operations, wort production, bottling line, milling, cleaning, organizing the warehouse, keg filling & cleaning, etc. However, the majority of the time you will be helping Aric and myself with wort production and cellar stuff.

Combined with our on-site lab and yeast propagation, we have a state of the art, semi-automated Newlands 30 BBL four vessel system, and the learning curve to operate this thing is fairly high, depending on previous experience. You will be trained on this system by Aric and myself to brew our many award winning beers. This is a special opportunity for a long term position in a fast growing brewery with a world class team of guys and gals.

Cheers!
