(Jay Fish Photo) Elbridge, NY – On Thursday July 23rd Rolling Wheels Raceway Park will give thanks to active military and veterans for their service on Page Trucking Armed Forces Appreciation Night. As part of the special night all active military and veterans will receive half off their general admission ticket. “Its because of those who are serving or have served this country that we get to have fun everyday and be involved in motorsports,” says Rolling Wheels General Manager Jerry Henderberg. “It’s only fitting that we honor their service by giving them a special night to enjoy.”
Also as part of Page Trucking Armed Forces Appreciation Night, American Comrades will be hosting a silent auction of memorabilia donated from the super stars of northeast big block racing. American Comrades is a non-profit organization that focuses on getting veterans active, retired , and or wounded in conflict into the outdoors whether its hunting, fishing, or just enjoying what mother nature has to offer. “At American Comrades our focus is on bring back the positives and the smiles to our men and women and their families for the indescribable sacrifices they made,” commented American Comrades President John LaFluer. “We are very proud to participate at Page Trucking Armed Forces Appreciation Night at Rolling Wheels Raceway on July 23rd”
The silent auction will take place over the course of the nights event, and will feature personal racing gear from the drivers. The 174 attack wing from Hancock Field Air National Guard Base will be on hand to help with the auction.
The huge night of racing will feature the big block modifieds as they battle for 50 laps and a $5,000 top prize in the Page Trucking 50. Joining the big block modifieds will be the Patriot Sprint Group presented by A-Verdi Storage Containers for a 25 lap $2,500 to win feature, and the GRIT Sportsman Racing Series for the $1,000 to win TugEdge 20, which will be ran in tribute to DIRT Hall of Fame member Jayne Doust.
The action packed night will start with gates opening at 4pm, warmups at 6pm and racing at 7pm. In honor of our armed forces, veterans general admission will be $10, with Veterans 60 & over only $5. Regular general admission to the three class show is just $20, Children 11-16 & seniors 60+ $10, Kids 10 & under free.
The night’s action will be covered by Rush Hour on Dirt for a later broadcast on MAVTV.
