MILL HALL, PA – Another exciting night of racing at CCMS on Friday Night June 10th with Andrew Yoder picking up his second win in a row in the C&D Containers limited late models, Ken Duke became the third different winner in three races for the IMCA 305 Auto Barn sprint cars.  Other winners included AY Schilling getting his second win of the year in the A&A pros tocks, with Eric Luzier winning the non-stop Lykens Market FWD four Cylinder feature, and Quinn Roberts repeating in the 270 micro-sprints sponsored by Dotter Equipment.

With his win on June 3rd Andrew Yoder had to start in the 12th sport for the 25 lap limited late models feature.  BY lap seventh the third year driver out of Middleburg, Pa. had worked his way up to the seventh spot. From his front row starting spot JR Toner lead the first five laps of the race until rookie driver Joe Lusk made a pass for the lead going down the front stretch.  From lap six until the caution half fell on lap 17 Lusk was stretching out his advantage on the slick 3/8-mile oval. In the meantime, Yoder was methodical working his way through the field. Working his way into the top five by lap eight, then up to fourth by lap eleven, he moved to third two laps later.  Andrew then sipped past Eric Summey to take over second on lap 14, but had a long way to go to catch Lusk who had built up a good lead. A caution on lap 18 slowed the action for a flat tire on the John Myer machine. That is the point is when Yoder figured he had a shot at winning.

“I might have caught up to him without the caution, but I may not have had enough time to pass him.  It would have been fun to race him, and I was sorry what happened to him later”.

Yoder made the winning pass with an inside move on lap nineteen, and two laps later Lusk lost the handle in turn four, giving up second place.

“I have to thank my dad and crew for all the help they give me, Dad has helped my uncle Jim for a long time, so all I have to do is tell him what I think I need and he knows what to change.  I like the way the track was tonight slick and smooth, and you could race high low and in the middle, it was a very racy track”.

Eric Summey held on for a second place finish in his Longhorn chassis #21E, with early race leader JR Toner third, then came Harry Miller and Tom Vilello.  Heat races went to Toner and Yoder.

In the IMCA 305 sprint car feature, Ken Duke of Selinsgrove started on the pole for the 20-lap feature, and in the end Duke became the third different winner in three races held at the track this year.  Ken was using his grove most of the race, and had to hold off the late race challenge of Scott Lutz.  Lutz who started fourth in the feature, but could not challenge the pace that Duke was running early in the race. Duke who is a two time track champion at the speedway, had one close call late in the race when he and Lutz got together going into turn one.

“First off I like what they did to the track this week, they smooth it off, I prefer the slick track to a wetter track, and that really helped us tonight. I want to apologize to Scott I did not see him there going into turn one, and we kind of got together a little bit.  I really did not mean to chop him; I don’t like to race like that. We were in the right spot to start on the pole to get the win”.

Lutz who won on opening night settled for second spot with Dale Schweikert third, followed by Redd Thompson and Ryan Lynn who came back from a lap nine tangle to place fifth.  Heat races went to Duke, Nathan Gramley, and Thompson.

AY Schilling of Linden, Pa led all 15 laps to score his second pro0stock win of the year.  AY did not have an easy go of it with Butch Braim dogging him the entire race.  On a few occasions Butch tried to make an inside move to get around the leader, but could not finish the move, Braim placed second with eighth starting Noah Jensen driving to a third place finish over Chris Snyder and Al Rishel. Heat win went to Schilling

For the third time in five race the FWD four-cylinder class had a non-stop feature and this time in was Eric Luzier of Clearfield, Pa. picked up the feature win his first of the year.   Eric Had his way in the 12-lap feature, but the battle for second which lasted the whole race was very intense, with Cody Stover going back and forth, tying to hold back the advancing’s of two time feature winner Aaron Luzier.  Cody did his job and held on for second of Aaron with Dave Flook and Kevin Wolfe next.  Heat win went to Eric Luzier.

In the 15-lap 270 micro-sprint feature Quinn Roberts took advantage of a false start and went on to score his second win of the year.  Roberts who started 11th in the feature, made a bold move to work his way into the third spot on lap three.  On the next restart leader Mason Peters was called for a jumps which, put Roberts on the front spot.  He was able to pull away the rest of the race to pick up the win, with Bryce Craft making a lap eleven pass of Peters for second place with Peters settling for third followed by Luke Kroboth and Denny Rinehimer fifth.  Heats races went to Roberts and Peters.
