What would you do if you found out your fans were uploading bootlegs of your concerts? Would you sue them for $1 million each? That’s exactly what Prince has done.

Prince has sued 22 people, accusing them of “massive infringement and bootlegging of Prince’s material“.

Prince is seeking $22 million from all users. Additionally, he wants to collect any money made from the recordings, interest, and legal fees.

The lawsuit names two people who used to run a bootleg site on Facebook (everyone else is listed anonymously).  One user is accused of uploading a concert from 1983 to Blogger.

The lawsuit also targets Prince fan sites, such as Purple House, Purple Kiss and Funky Experience Four .

Prince has a long history of anti-digital behavior.  ”The internet’s completely over,” the Artist stated in 2010.  ”I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else.”
