Patrick Grant, creative director of Savile Row tailors, Norton & Sons, and winner of the British Fashion Award for Best Menswear Designer has created a one-of-a-kind suit that is engineered perfectly for the modern man.

The suit, taking inspiration from the technology-infused traditional timepieces in Casio Edifice’s Bluetooth®SMART range, features a number of modern twists on classic Savile Row tailoring. Cut from a single piece of traditional wool-blend fabric, the material has been treated with the latest Nano-technology rendering it water-resistant, crease-proof and breathable. Allowing for the growing number of Smart Watch users in the UK and accommodating the need for easy access to your watch without compromising on style, the cuffs and sleeves have been meticulously measured and hand stitched in Norton and Sons’ workshop on London’s iconic Savile Row.

With a lining that is Pantone colour-matched to the face of the Casio Edifice EQB-500DB, the suit has also been designed with a first-of-its-kind pocket configuration featuring an in-built solar-powered charging unit and enlarged capacity to accommodate even the most generously-sized smart phones available on the market.

Classic yet durable, the Edifice timepiece that has inspired the suit in all its sartorial splendour is powered by Tough Solar and uses Bluetooth to wirelessly connect to a smartphone device, enabling Global Time Sync to 300 cities across the world.

Speaking of the project, Patrick Grant said: “We were tasked by Casio Edifice to create a bespoke suit that was inspired by the Edifice range. The art of bespoke tailoring is about many things. It’s about uncompromising levels of craftsmanship, it’s about something that is deeply personal, it’s about using the world’s finest materials and all of that together creates a product of unequalled quality.

“We chose a material that whilst it looks traditional is packed with the most modern technology, rendering it water resistant, stain resistant and crease resistant. All of which is exceptionally important for the modern man who travels.”

Tim Gould, Casio UK’s Head of Marketing, added: “We’re honoured to be working with Patrick Grant, a revolutionary bespoke tailor leading the way in his industry. Norton & Sons on Savile Row perfectly mirrors Casio Edifice’s values for design, quality and innovation. We understand the importance our customers place on their chosen watch bringing together advanced technology with uncompromising style and this blend is showcased in both the bespoke suit and our Bluetooth®SMART range.”

Patrick and the team at Norton & Sons have documented the tailoring process in an exclusive video:
