Circulation problems are common in the cold winter months, and although poor circulation affects the entire blood flow, it usually first manifests in the limbs.

It may not signalize that you are having some serious health issues, but it definitely is a warning sign that you must change something in your lifestyle.

Water

It hydrates your entire body, stimulates digestion, and improves nutrient supply to the cells, so adequate water intake is essential for proper body function. Water also alleviates elimination of waste products and all kinds of toxins.

Drinking plenty of fresh and purified water daily helps to hydrate cells including the skin, and gives you a regular supply of minerals.

If you have been working out, you may need to increase your regular water intake. According to most nutritionists, an adult should drink between 1.5 and 2 liters of water a day.

Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper contains an active ingredient called capsaicin, which stimulates blood flow throughout your body and organs.

Capsaicin also strengthens the walls of your arteries and capillaries. In addition, it alleviates symptoms linked to poor blood circulation, such as pain, headaches, cold feet and tingling sensations in the legs.

Ginger root

Blood circulation can be efficiently stimulated by the common kitchen staple- the ginger.  The regular consumption of ginger prevents the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

This remarkable root contains gingerols and zingerone, which have a warming effect on the body, and consequently improves blood flow and prevents atherosclerosis.
