DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The State Fair of Texas will once again take place at historic Fair Park in Dallas this fall. But this time, the Fair is encouraging visitors to explore the wide range of travel destinations across the Lone Star State.

Organizers for the Fair are already in full planning mode for this year’s big event, themed “Passport To Texas”.

“This will highlight a wide range of travel destinations throughout the state, as well as their historical significance too,” said PR director Karissa Condoianis. “And really showing that to travel around Texas and to make your way to the State Fair of Texas, whether you’re coming from near or far. All roads lead to the State Fair.”

The State Fair began a “Texification” project in 2014 with several additions and enhancements to the Fair grounds, including Texas-themed signage and flags, as well as music and floats for the nightly Starlight Parade.

The Fair also recently launched an “#ExploreTexas” campaign to highlight a wide range of travel destinations in the Lone Star State.

“After 128 years of bringing quality entertainment to the community, the State Fair continues to celebrate Texas heritage, including its significant ties to agriculture and education,” explains Mitchell Glieber, State Fair of Texas president. “Seeing friends and families come back year after year reminds us that the Fair is more than just an annual event – it is an institution unique to the state of Texas that serves as one of the many special traditions our great state has to offer.”

The 2015 State Fair of Texas will run from Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 18.
