Pods Deploy is a new plugin for copying Pods Configurations from one site to another via the new WordPress REST API. It is now immediately available for public beta testing, we would love to hear what you think. The plugin clones Pods setup, Pods Templates, Pods Pages and Pods Helpers, but not content. It is specifically designed for situations where copying the full database is not possible. In those situations a plugin such as iThemes BackupBuddy or WP Migrate DB Pro by Delicious Brains.

This new plugin makes use of several new routes that have been added to Pods JSON API, which allow activating and deactivating components, as well as importing a Pods Migrate Package. In addition, a new end point has been added for updating bi-directional relationships, post import. For more details on these enhancements to the Pods JSON API plugin, please see its updated readme.

Pods Deploy provides an easy user interface, along with a public/private key authentication system for making deployments via these new endpoints, but is not required to use them. Developers who wish to customize the process or use an alternate authentication method are encouraged to use this plugin as inspiration for their own custom deployment systems.

Full instructions for using Pods Deploy, including a list of required plugins, and a download of the plugin are available via its GitHub repository. Users are reminded that this plugin is still in beta and are encouraged to use it with caution, report any issues, and only perform deployments over HTTPS.
