Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo may be getting older, but apparently he can still recruit. On Tuesday night, the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2016, Josh Jackson was in attendance for MSU's 99-93 overtime win over Oakland University and it's sounding like the Spartans remain on his short list.

Following the game, Rico Beard from Detroit Sports 105.1 FM tweeted out some excellent news for the Spartans and their faithful.

The top player of the 2016 class Josh Jackson says he is down to 2 schools. #Arizona #Spartans .

Jackson, who is originally from Detroit, is a 6-7 shooting guard who now plays at Prolific Prep in Napa, California.

The Spartans, according to 247 Sports, currently hold the third-ranked recruiting class behind only Kentucky and Duke.

If Jackson does choose Michigan State, he will join fellow five-star recruits, Miles Bridges (SF) and Joshua Langford (SG) along with four-stars Cassius Winston (PG) and Nick Ward (PF).

It's pretty safe to say that the excitement around Michigan State basketball will not be coming to an end anytime soon.
