Summary: Helping hunters, storing things. The family business. Sam and Dean have been running Winchester Mini-storage for years, and they have a very loyal, and eccentric group of customers. They also have a very strict set of policies. When an unexpected piece of “cargo” starts making a ruckus, Dean and Sam find most of their rules breaking, and being thrown further into the supernatural fight than they’ve ever been before.
An interesting AU but SU fic, this fast-paced work features an alternate season 4/5. There’s some typos and word omissions, but overall I enjoyed the fic. It creatively mixes the season 4/5 story arc with more recent season 8 stuff. (So tagging as season 8 for spoiler reasons but also season 5 for similarity reasons.) I guess I most enjoyed seeing the hunting world from a different perspective. We’re definitely used to “on the front line” Dean and Sam. But here in this AU, they are used to serving a more supportive role (along with Chuck). No; I lied. I think what I loved most about this fic is how the author tweaked their character histories and then had them interact. It’s almost like season 5!Cas meeting season 8!Dean (well…minus most of Dean’s world-weariness; mini-storage ~= the bunker). I would have preferred a higher word count with more time for development, but I’m obviously biased towards longer fic.
