Young and talented director Vishal Pandya and audio-cinema giants T-Series have together delivered two hits in a row in the form of HATE STORY 2 and HATE STORY 3, both popular HATE STORY franchises and boasting of chartbusting music. WAJAH TUM HO too promises the same with composers like Mithoon, Meet Bros etc at the helm of affairs.
WAJAH TUM HO WALLPAPERS
The film derives its title from Baman-Manoj’s chartbusting song ‘Wajah Tum Ho‘ (HATE SORY 3) but the title track ‘Wajah Tum Ho‘ composed by Mithoon is a totally new song and quite a lovely romantic ballad. Rendered by the composer along with Altamash Faridi and Tulsi Kumar, it’s a Nadeem-Sharvan type soft, slow drawl melodious number that sounds good to the ears and has some simple touching lyrics by Manoj.
There are two more versions of the title track- ‘Wajah Tum Ho-1‘ features Mithoon along with Altamash Faridi and the third is the lounge version sung once again by Mithoon and Altamash.
The evergreen romantic composition that can be found in the playlists of all die hard romantics , Kishore Kumar’s Kalyanji-Anandiji’s ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas‘ from Dharmendra-Rakhi’s BLACKMAIL (1973) is refurbished by Abhjiit Vaghani and appears in two versions. The first features Arjit Singh along with Tulsi Kumar with Neuman Pinto chipping in with some contemporary English portions, and the second one has Armaan Malik (unplugged version) rendering the iconic number. Both versions are good and one does get nostalgic hearing the recreated evergreen classic.
The same can be said about ‘Dil Mein Chhupa Loonga‘ which too is a recreated version (by Meet Bros) of another timeless classic composition, R.D. Burman’s ‘Aise Na Mujhe Tum Dekho‘ from Dev Anand-Zeenat Amaan’s DARLING DARLING. Sung by Armaan Malik with Tulsi providing support the song makes for a good hear.
Lo behold we have another recreated version ‘Mahi Ve‘ borrowed from another chartbusting Sanjay Gupta item song ‘Maahi Ve‘ (KAANTE) and is refurbished by Abhijit Vaghani. Neha Kakkar gets to render the number which she does with effortless ease.
To conclude, the album is a good time pass but one does wonder why an audio giant like T-Series, having the services of popular composers like Mithoon, Meet Bros etc., did not come up with more original scores and tried to make do with recreated versions of timeless classics, which are popular even today, and even the Gen X is quite familiar with them. Moreover, director Vishal Pandya and T-Series have a ‘zabardast‘ track record of superhit music. Having said that, once the film releases, perhaps we can get the answer!
