While 2016 was an eventful year and gave us some wonderful films, 2017 is promising to be no less. The year has its platter full with some very good projects from sequels to remakes to biggies to multi-starrers to biopics, 2017 is certainly a year to look forward to. Here’s the list of movies:
OK JAANU: The first biggie of 2017 is Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer which is releasing on January 13, 2017. OK JAANU is the official remake of O KADHAL KANMANI, which dwells on live-in relationships. The music is composed by A R Rahman, lyrics penned by Gulzar.
KAABIL: Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam starrer KAABIL which is set for Republic Day release, is the much awaited film directed Sanjay Gupta, written by Vijay Kumar Mishra, produced by Rakesh Roshan under his banner FilmKraft Productions.
RAEES: Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment’s film is an upcoming action thriller of 2017 staring Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. SRK’s look in the film has been the talk of the town and is receiving immense applauds! Raees trailer soon after its release had garnered humongous response and the audiences can’t wait to experience the film in the theaters. What’s interesting is that the films teaser which had released last year, still rings in a fresh recall amongst the consumers which proves that this film has just nailed it right in terms of content! The film is directed by national award winner Rahul Dholakia and is set to release on 25th January 2017!
2.0: 2.0 is the successor to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, Robot in English is an upcoming Indian science fiction film written and directed by S. Shankar and music composed by A R Rahman, the film will feature Thalaiva Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar who plays a never before role of his career and Amy Jackson plays the female lead. The film will be released in three languages: Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. With an estimated budget of 400 crore (4 billion), it is the most expensive Indian film till date. Since the stake is too high and with the two superstars from two different industries colliding opposite each other is worth waiting to see coming year.
JAGGA JASOOS:Disney’s film has the team of BARFI coming together. Produced by Disney, directed by Anurag Basu with Ranbir playing male lead, the entire team of BARFI has joined hands once again. The pairing of Ranbir and Katrina Kaif has added tremendous excitement. The film’s trailer that has enchanted children extensively is a pure adventure thrill! Coming on the same weekend as The Jungle Book, Jagga Jasoos releases on 7th April 2017!
JOLLY LLB 2: JOLLY LLB2 is the sequel to the surprise hit of 2013 Jolly LLB with Arshad Warsi in lead and supported by Boman Irani. In 2017, Jolly LLB 2 will reprise with fresh cast starring Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi. Jolly LLB 2 is a courtroom comedy drama film, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. Saurabh Shukla would be seen in a special appearance in the sequel alongside Arshad Warsi. The film is scheduled to release on 10 February 2017. On December 2, 2016 Akshay Kumar shared first teaser poster of the film on his official twitter account.
