With these tips, you can get breathlessly beautiful engagement photos–the sort that make people wonder if you hired the crew from a Vogue photo shoot to help you out. Little will they know that you did it all on your own!
Pick a stylish prop. A big balloon with a tassel isn’t hard to find or expensive to buy. Yet take some photos with it and your shots will instantly feel properly fashionista’d. You can get the same look with glittery letters or a framed sign (or even your puppy decked out in a cute outfit). These added elements give your photos a sense of creativity and personality–and hardly cost anything at all!
Choose a unique background. You may see engagement photos where a vintage couch is set in a meadow with a fully staged bar cart. If you don’t have the budget for these types of rentals, don’t sweat it! You can easily fill your photos with drama by shooting on location. This train station is full of so much color, texture, and interest that the couple doesn’t need any extras. A lot of places have all the props and background you’ll need already there!
Opt for classic outfits. Chances are, you have everything you need in your own closet! You probably already have a bright dress and nude pumps. These timeless pieces keep the focus on your gorgeous face while still being chic. Put your guy in a suit with a skinny black tie and, as they say, wham, bam, thank you ma’am. You two are now the classiest couple ever.
Get that “perfect for an ad” shot. This in-motion photo is so romantic and makes you feel like you’ve been whisked away into a love story. Stage a similar shot by having him dip you. The two of you can also frolic in a meadow or you can sit on the handlebars of a bicycle that he’s riding. These shots will be extra magical because they will candidly capture your chemistry. And that’s something no amount of money can buy!
