Illustration is an art form that is continuously being threatened by the tools of the digital age, but is not completely lost. Artist Benjamin Sack is one of its saviors.

Using a black 0.05 Staedtler pigment liner pen, Sack creates intensely detailed cityscapes that, at first glance, seem to defy all laws of perspective. I mean, how much detail can you really put into a picture? For this artist, there are no limits. The structures aren’t all random, but are actually reminiscent of popular architecture found throughout the world. When asked about the process of creation for each piece, he said, “I can credit patience and a debilitating love for history and architecture.”
