Interior design as we all know is a multi-faceted profession in which creative and technical solutions are applied within a structure to achieve a built interior environment. These solutions are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants and are aesthetically attractive as well as appealing.

These solutions can be based on the variety of concepts like different themes, color palettes, art moments or maybe just our heritage, but a new concept mushrooming from the hefty clouds of interior monotony is designing according to our zodiac signs.

A refreshing twist from all the dull and tedious approaches from the same interior designer you have been hiring to do your living room for years.

So let’s get started!

Aries

The Aries clan fall in the category of fighters. Fierce, keen, passionate and intense. This sign represents Fire which can be associated to shades of red – Crimson, Deep maroon or maybe ruby.
Interior style:  home is as bold, striking and powerful as all things associated with this zodiac sign. Compelled by the element of fire, their space is often energized with the warrior spirit which expresses itself with strong, stand-alone decorative pieces made of metal, wood or stone.

Taurus

Taurus people can be described as enthusiastic, sensuous, time killers, patient, calm, tolerant and materialistic. Represented by the bull, the sign is drawn toward, “earthy browns, shades of green, pastel colors (blues, pinks, greens), and white.
Interior style:

The décor mantra in a Taurus home is “big and comfy”. But the colors appreciated are simple and deep. The essence of this zodiac sign is security and stability, and the earth-bound Bull feels comforted by oversized furniture and furnishings: a large, plush sofa set, for example, or a California King-size bed. Appreciative of luxurious, expensive trappings, a Bull will make smart investments in the home with an eye on improving its overall value.

Gemini

Inquisitive, able to think in a logical way, seeker of novelty, erratic, and fun, is how one might describe a Gemini, an air sign whose personality reflects a dynamic thought process. As such, the colors associated with this sign are bright, with life in them, like yellow.
Interior style: variety and change is par for the course in a Gemini home. As creatures who constantly need the stimulation of flow and movement, a typical Gemini prefers living in an urban environment where design trends and new ideas thrive. A light floor, light-coloured wood and pale walls creates an ambience of space, movement and mobility that a Gemini thrives on.

Cancer

For someone with this water sign, one could describe their personality as, absorbed in moods, prudent, senses undercurrents, nourishing/nurturing, hidden strength, and pioneer of feeling. Those with the crab as their zodiac are inclined to softer shades—colors such as moonlight hues (pearl, silvery, soft grey, cream, milky white.
Interior style: The rules of trendy interiors do not apply to the Crab, who has its pincers clamped tightly onto the past. This spirit of nostalgia – compounded by a great love for family – makes them accumulate everything they attach a sentimental value to like books.

Leo

A Leo is said to be, proud, risk taker, formal, thoughtful, big-hearted, ambitious, passionate, and a lover of adventure. It is a fire sign associated with the colors of the peak of summer Shades like gold, red, orange, and sunflower yellow create the ideal palette for this larger-than-life sign.
Interior style: The boldness of bright yellow or flaming orange-red dominates their color palette, leaving visitors in no doubt that they have stepped into a Lion’s royal quarters. Everything about a Leo’s living space is designed to be majestic. Each item – right down to a throw pillow – grabs attention with their dynamic individuality.

Virgo

The colors associated with this sign are luckily quite bountiful, offering lots of room to play in spaces. From “white” to “muted natural colors like indigo, beige, forest green etc.,”
Interior design. Everything about a Leo’s living space is designed to be diligent. Geometric patterns and sleek counterparts makes them feel right at home. But each item – right down to a throw pillow – grabs attention with their dynamic individuality.

All these signs are just the first part…..Rest (Libra-Pisces) is yet to come!

Happy decorating!
