Approximately 2,500 customers lost electricity supplies in the Bellaghy and Castledawson areas today following a fault on a high voltage overhead electricity line.
NIE emergency crews responded immediately, using fault location equipment to identify a broken insulator.
There are currently 75 customers without electricity supply and NIE emergency crews are working to restore power as soon as final repairs and safety checks have been carried out.
