EPCU: Pony Photo Challenge
Hello again, dear pony friends!
A few days ago, we at the European Pony Convention Union (EPCU) announced our special My Little Pony photo contest celebrating this year’s Summer Sun Celebration. Today, we’re back with more details and some very good news for you!
As it can sometimes be frustrating to find My Little Pony products in stores, our photo challenge is now open for anyone to participate! All it takes is a photo of your current My Little Pony collection! Also, BUCK has decided to join the fun by donating one of their “20% Cooler Tickets” as another prize to the event. Yay!
This gives you the chance to win one of these prizes:
- A BIZAAM Ticket to GalaCon
- A Fancy Ticket to BronyDays
- A Gold Sponsor Ticket to Crystal Fair
- A 20% Cooler Ticket to BUCK
And this is how you can participate:
- Get an account at eurobronies.org and upload a picture of your personal pony herd to the image gallery. There will be a special “Summer Sun Celebration” category.
- Include your desired convention ticket and a brief description of your photo in the image description of your upload.
- Your photo must be uploaded by June 30th at the latest.
- The winners will be picked by the staff members of the EPCU conventions.
Good luck!
All EPCU teams
Everfree Northwest: Release of EFNW Album Road to Everfree
Everfree Northwest is proud to introducing our first ever exclusive album: Road to Everfree! The album includes pieces from eleven standout musical artists such as Silva Hound, Cyril The Wolf, ThatSonOfAMitch, Mic The Microphone and more! All profits from the album are going toward aiding these musicians with their flight accommodations to the convention, so if you can, please give them a hand on their road to Everfree!

Brony Fan Fair: Release of Visual Novel
Hey everypony! We’ve got a treat for you. An upcoming fan-made visual novel is in the works starring the pony mascots Rising Star and Heartland. Both characters are representatives of Brony Fan Fair, an upcoming convention in Austin, TX on September 13th-15th at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown.
Lights in the Sky is the story of Rising Star’s journey to find her cutie mark. As a farm filly, Rising Star tries hard to fulfill the responsibilities given to her by her older sister, Heartland. But an opportunity arises where she finds that her heart’s desire may rest outside the boundaries of the Star Fields family farm. Rising Star will be put to the test as she is forced to decide between adherence to her sister’s wishes or the yearning to follow her own dreams.
The first part of the novel will be available on June 25th, 2013 on the Brony Fan Fair website. Players will be able to play Rising Star’s exploration of the Manehatten Astronomical Society building, the first leg of her journey.
Lights in the Sky is a short-and-sweet creation of Peter Jiang, Chairman for Brony Fan Fair. The visual novel was a final project for the “Writing and Narration for Video Games” spring semester class at the University of Texas at Austin taught by Sheldon Pacotti (writer on Deus Ex) and is being developed for younger audiences. Pacotti comments: “…[A]s a work of interactive fiction — from what I’ve seen — it succeeds on every level. There is conflict, exploration, a sense of adventure, and the writing always stays safely in the established My Little Pony universe.”

Sweet Apple Acres Con: Changing Venues in Nashville
First of all, Sweet Apple Acres would like to thank everyone who tried to help them meet their minimum room attrition at Millennium Maxwell House. Unfortunately, Sweet Apple Acres was not able to get everything needed in order to hold the event space that Millennium Maxwell House had promised. However a new venue has been booked, and Sweet Apple Acres Con 2013 is now moving to the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt.
The Holiday Inn Vanderbilt is about four miles away from the Millennium Maxwell House hotel and right next to Vanderbilt’s campus. Rooms at the Holiday Inn are not guaranteed to be available, so rooms can be booked at the Marriott next door at a special rate of $179 per night. This special rate covers rooms booked between July 11-14 and can be booked by using the promo code “sweswea” or following this link. Availability will be limited, so book today!
If you had already booked a room at the Millennium Maxwell House under the old discounted rate and do not wish to change your reservations, this rate will still be honored by Millennium Maxwell House.
Event space at the Holiday Inn will be smaller than what was originally offered at Millennium Maxwell House, however, no guests will be dropped who have already been announced for Sweet Apple Acres Con. This means you will still get a chance to see guests like voice actors Michelle Creber, Lee Tockar and Michael Daingerfield as well as many content producers heralded in the fandom. In fact, Sweet Apple Acres is still not finished with their community guest lineup, so stay tuned for more exciting announcements that are soon to come.
