Faithful who are unable to attend a Christmas liturgy will have a few opportunities to celebrate the birth of Christ this year.

The Archdiocese of Denver’s Office of Communications will stream live on the Internet Archbishop Samuel Aquila as he celebrates Midnight Mass from the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. A special hour-long Mass will also air on TV Christmas morning. Faithful will also have a chance to pray with Pope Francis as he celebrates Mass in Rome.

Denver Midnight Mass livestream

Archbishop Aquila will celebrate Midnight Mass at the Cathedral Basilica, which will air online starting with carols at 11:45 p.m. Dec. 24 at www.archden.org/livestream. He will also celebrate Christmas Day Mass 10:30 a.m. Dec. 25, although this will not air online.

Denver TV Mass Christmas morning

On Christmas morning, Dec. 25, a special hour-long TV Mass will air at 7 a.m. in English, and at 8 a.m. in Spanish. The Masses will be shown on Colorado Public Television Channel 12. The TV Mass reaches 20,000 households in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. Missals can be requested by calling 303-715-3230 or emailing info@archden.org.

Vatican liturgies with Pope Francis

The Vatican also announced Masses that will be presided over by Pope Francis to air on TV. A two-hour Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica celebrating the Solemnity of the Birth of Christ will air on EWTN Global Catholic Network at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 24, 6 a.m. Dec. 25 and 5 p.m. Dec. 25.
