Job Description

A Healthcare Solutions Engineer motivates and sells audiences on Covisint products and services by performing technical software product presentations and demonstrations.  In addition to requiring a balance of technical and sales aptitude, roles will include handling customer technical questions and issues, creating product positioning and translating business needs into new product features.

Primary Roles/Responsibilities:

Assist the sales organization to meet and exceed their fiscal year revenue objectives by providing high-quality, technical sales personnel to assist sales executives during all phases of the sales cycle

Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through face-to-face meetings, conference calls, technical conferences and email communication

Analyze business and technical requirements and issues from customers, and architect / recommend Covisint solutions accordingly

Create formal written proposals, including responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information

Train, document and mentor team members on Covisint products as well as related technologies

Work closely with other internal organizations such as Subject Matter Experts, Product Marketing, Product Management and Development, Technical Support, Quality Assurance, and Sales Management

Participate in Covisint sales training, solutions training, and ongoing product specialization training

 

Required Skills/Competencies:

Extensive experience in the sale and delivery of healthcare information system solutions, particularly SaaS solutions and the associated architecture

Strong background and understanding of healthcare workflows within various clinical and administrative environments.

Experience and understanding of industry standards such as HL7, IHE, NHIN, EDI, XML.

Technical understanding of secure transport mechanisms such as REST based web services and others.

Strong knowledge of portal environments

Strong negotiation skills with the goal of influencing customer decisions to gain and retain Covisint business

Strong presentation skills, with the ability to assemble effective presentations with clear, concise messages

Strong product understanding and the ability to advise customers on the product and its usage

Strong written skills, the ability to convey difficult technical terms in easy-to-understand written format, with architectural diagrams, business process workflow diagrams and other supporting tools

Highly motivated, energetic and committed to getting result

Solid understanding of the application development lifecycle and supporting infrastructures, from concept through production deployment

Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others and coordinating efforts in a multi-site, project-oriented organization

Work at a Compuware Sales office that is a part of the employees’ respective Sales geography

Microsoft Office productivity suite

 

Desired Skills/Competencies:

Prior experience with Portal solutions, Single Sign-on and Identity Management.

Experience and understanding of ACO, PCMH, MU and Health Information Exchange markets.

Familiarity of clinical analytics and patient registries.

Established relationships with executives and IT decision-makers throughout a local/regional territory

Familiarity with competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and a general understanding of the landscape and major vendors in the healthcare space.

Familiarity with Visio or similar charting tool
