Good news first for the film Rudramadevi (Rudhramadevi) is that the state of Telangana has made the film tax free. Bad news is that the producer of the film Rudramadevi - Gunasekhar is in a financial tangle at the final moment of the films release. If everything goes off smoothly the film will be relasing in two hours from now ie 01 am 9th october 2015. Director Gunasekhar readied a script based on the life of Rani Rudramadevi. Anushka, Nayanthara and Priyanka Chopra were considered for the title role but Anushka was signed based on her performance in Arundhati. Gunasekhar roped in Ilaiyaraja to compose the music and Thotta Tharani for art direction. The film is made on a budget in excess of 50 crore . Mahesh Babu and Jr. NTR were first approached for the role of Gona Ganna Reddy, but neither of them were signed for the film. Later Allu Arjun was eventually selected to do the role of Gona Gona Reddy. Neeta Lulla is donning the costumes.

Rudhramadevi which is a Telugu, Tamil historical film, based on the life of Rudrama Devi who is one of the prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan Plateau, and one of the few ruling queens in Indian history. The film is written, produced and directed by Gunasekhar in 3D.
The film is simultaneously being made in Telugu and Tamil. It is being dubbed in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam, this movie will be the first movie to be dubbed into Kannada after Competition Commission of India’s ruling to lift the ban on dubbing of other language films into Kannada.
Rudhramadevi (Rudramadevi) features an ensemble cast of Anushka Shetty, Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Vikramjeet Virk, Prakash Raj, Krishnam Raju, Nithya Menen, Baba Sehgal and Catherine Tresa, among others.Anushka Shetty will play the role of Rudrama Devi.
The film's soundtrack and background score were composed by Ilaiyaraaja. This film is scheduled to release on 9 October 2015 in Telugu and Hindi languages, and for a 16 October 2015 release in Tamil.

The shooting of the film was started on 14 February 2013 in Warangal Thousand Pillar Temple. The first shot was shot at the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal. Rapper Baba Sehgal was roped in by director Gunasekhar for a role. Vikramjeet Virk, who earlier played a negative role in Ashutosh Gowarikar's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010) and in Puri Jagannadh's 2014 film Heart Attack, will be seen playing a negative character called Mahadeva Nayakadu.
The film's official trailer was released in March 2015. The audio of this film was planned to release separately in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states having the Chief ministers of these states as chief guests. 3 songs out of album released in Vishakapatnam on Saturday evening, while the remaining 3 songs released next day in Warangal. The film was slated to be released on 26 June 2015, but it was postponed to 9 October due to technical problems. Telangana state has given entertainment tax exemption for this historical epic drama.
