As Hurricane Matthew approaches from the south those along the Delmarva Coast line are getting prepared. In Rehoboth Beach officials began removing 175 benches along the boardwalk and Rehoboth Avenue. Tony Pratt, Delaware’s state shoreline and waterway administrator, told the Wilmington News Journal that for the moment the storm is expected to be well south of the Delmarva Peninsula. But he adds there is still great uncertainty. High winds, storm surge and big waves are the main concern. Pratt adds that for Sussex County the problem is more rain with the roadside ditches already filled from the last downpour.
