1.INDIA GATE

India Gate was formally known as War Memorial Arch. It was built to honor Indian soldiers who died in First World War and also British soldiers who died on the North-West Frontier. This was conceived by Edwin Landseer Lutyens. It was built in 1931.The height of India Gate is 42 meters. It is one of the famous places to visit in Delhi.

Station: Central Secretariat, Central Secretariat Metro station lies on
the Yellow line of Metro (Samaypur Badli to Huda City Centre). But if you are travelling in blue line metro, these are the

2.RED FORT

The Red Fort is made
up of large red coloured sand stones which gave it the name ‘Red Fort’. This
historical place is spread over an area of more than 250 acres land. The Red
Fort is a royal palace which was built by Shah Jahan. The work of architecture in Delhi Lal
Kila was assigned to Ustad Ahmed and Ustad Humid. The complete construction
work of Lal Kila was done in 1648.

3.QUTUB MINAR

Qutub Minar Delhi is one
of the most famous historical monuments of India. This tower is made up by red
sandstone and marbles. A minaret which initially was constructed by
Qutab-ud-din Aibak in 1192. It is regarded as the tallest tower of India.  234
feet high consisting with the diameter of 47 feet at the base and 9 feet at the
peak. It is one of the famous monuments to visit in Delhi.

4.RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN

The Rashtrapati Bhavan houses the
first citizen of the country, the President of India also known as the
President House. The prestigious building also includes huge presidential
gardens including the famous Mughal Garden, along with some large open spaces
and residences of staff.

Instruction

A request to visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan can be made online.

All Indian visitors are required to carry a valid photo ID proof. Foreigners should make the request to visit along with photocopies of their passport. They must also carry their original passport for verification on the day of visit.

Timings:  Open to public from 9 AM to 4 PM on Thursday, Friday,

Visitors individually or in a group of less than 30 persons will be
charged @ Rs. 50/- per visitor per Circuit.

Visitors in a group of 30 persons will be charged Rs. 1200/- (Rs.50 x 30
less 20% discount) per visit.

Visitors in a group of more than 30 persons will be charged Rs.1200/-
plus Rs.50 per additional visitor.

Visitors below the age of 8 years will be exempt from the payment of
registration charges.

5. RAJ GHAT

Raj Ghat represents the
spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his death. Raj Ghat is visited by locals as well as foreigners who want
to pay homage to the great soul and very effective political leader of his
time, Mahatma Gandhi. Other than cremation spot of Mahatma Gandhi, there are
many other important people and leaders who were cremated nearby. There are two
museums nearby which are also dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

6.JANTAR MANTAR

Jantar Mantar Delhi is an observatory built
by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1724.
One of the five sites which were built by Maharaja Jai Singh. The Samrat Yantra, Jayaprakash
Yantra and Misra Yantra are some important astronomical instruments
which are inside Jantar Mantar. Their functions were to predict the time and
movement of planets, sun and moon. This is one the most visited places in Delhi
both by the foreigner’s and natives.

7.LOTUS(BAHAI’S) TEMPLE

Lotus Temple, also famous with the name Baha’i House of Worship or
Baha’i Mashriqu’l-Adhkar temple, is one of the most interesting tourist
attractions of Delhi. The temple has won huge number of awards on the basis of
its marvellous architecture and has got many articles published in major
newspapers and magazines. The temple is named lotus temple because of its shape
of a half-opened lotus. This temple is one the top peaceful place to visit in Delhi.

8. LODHI GARDENS

Lodhi Garden is one of the best places to spend some time with your
loved ones. Lush greenery makes this place very refreshing. The garden is very
well maintained by gardeners and guards. Lodhi garden in Delhi has been re-deigned by JA
Stein and Garrett Eckbo in the year 1968 and that’s how it got the present
shape. At Lodhi garden you must visit the tombs of Muhammad Shah, the 3rd
leader of Sayyid dynasty and Sikandar Lodhi.

9. TEEN MURTI BHAVAN

Teen Murti Bhavan, built during the British-era was
originally known as the Flagstaff House.
It is a statue of three soldiers and was made in
memory of three soldiers from three princely states – Jodhpur, Mysore and
Hyderabad, who sacrificed their lives during World War I under British army.

10. JAMA MASJID

Masjid-i Jahan-Numa very popularly known as Delhi ki Jama
Masjid is a great mosque located in Old Delhi. It was one of the last
architectural work done by Shah Jahan. It is constructed of red sandstone and white
marble. From the top of minaret, you can take a beautiful view of Jama
Masjid, Connaught place and Parliament house.

11. SWAMINARAYAN AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE

Akshardham Temple or Swaminarayan Akshardham Complex is a Hindu temple. Akshardham means the divine abode of God. This Mandir is a humble tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781-1830), the avatars Devas and great sages of Hinduism. Akshardham Mandir was inaugurated on 6 November, 2005 with the blessings of HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj and through the devoted efforts of skilled artisans. It is one of the beautiful worship places to visit in Delhi.

12.HUMAYUN’S TOMB

Humayun’s Tomb is the tomb of Mughal emperor Babur’s son, Humayun. The tomb was constructed in the 1971 in the memory of emperor Humayun,9 years after his death. It contains the graves of more than 100 Mughals including the graves of Hamida Begum, Dara Shikoh, Bahadur Shah etc. Because of graves of so many Mughal people in it, it is also known as the Dormitory of the Mughals. This tomb is the most famous and beautiful place to visit in Delhi.

This 17th-century shrine is dedicated to the memory of Guru Har
Krishan, who was the eighth Sikh Guru.
The Gurudwara
draws attention due to its magnificent structure, architectural beauty, and the
large water body aka ‘Sarovar’ located within the complex.

14.AGRASEN KI BAOLI

Agrasen ki Baoli is an
ancient water reservoir which rises from the depths of the earth to stand
atop 103 stone steps. A protected monument under the Ancient Monuments and
Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 of the Archaeological Survey of
India. The old brick walls of the structure take you back in history and as you
go down the steps, a drop in temperature can be experienced.

15. WASTE TO WONDER PARK

The latest addition to
Delhi’s list of attractions, Waste to Wonder Park features the replicas of

light up the park rendering a breath-taking sight during sunset and
night. Moreover, it is opened recently and it is one the most attracted place

16.JHANDEWALAN HUNUMAN TEMPLE

Jhandewalan Hanuman mandir is one of the most popular Hindu temples in Delhi. The shrine is marked by the colossal 108 ft statue of Lord Hanuman and can be seen from the both Jhandewalan and Karol Bagh metro station. The construction of temple started in 1994 and it took 13 years to finish the project.

17.MUGHAL GARDENS

The Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residential palace of the Indian president. One of its most beautiful features is the Mughal Garden which is an example of Islamic architecture. Its construction was completed in 1929. Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens was the main architect in the construction of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He designed the Rashtrapati Bhavan and also the Mughal Gardens.  The beauty of this garden makes it the most

19.MAJNU-KA-TILLA

Majnu-ka-tilla (MT) is a colony in Delhi, India that was established around 1950. It is also called New Aruna Nagar Colony. 20.PURANA QILA-OLD FORT

One of the oldest forts in India, it is most popularly known as Old fort or Pandavon ka Kila. The walls of the Old Fort rise to a height of 18 metres and are spread over 1.5 kilometres. It was built by Sher Shah Suri; it was then completed by Islam Shah (son of Sher Shah Suri). Tourists can also enjoy the spectacular sound and light show held every evening.
