Grant joins AAA Mid-Atlantic

AAA Mid-Atlantic announced that Ken Grant has joined the organization as Public and Government Affairs Manager for the state of Delaware. Grant will work with legislators, policy-makers, reporters, AAA members and the community to promote the safety of travelers and all roadway users.

Before joining AAA Mid-Atlantic, Grant spent eight years at Miles Scientific as Marketing Director. He has also worked in Delaware politics, print media and radio. Grant is known in Delaware as an advocate for entrepreneurship, the arts, and using social media tools to enhance communication between individuals and organizations around the world. He was the recipient of the Excellence in Public Service Award by the Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council for his efforts to improve Wilmington’s parking ticket issues.

Shore Bancshares names HR director

Shore Bancshares, Inc. announced that Marie DiDaniels has joined the Shore Bancshares team as the Chief Human Resources Officer.

She will be responsible for directing all human resource functions of Shore Bancshares and its subsidiaries by overseeing staffing, policies, compliance, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, training, benefits and compensation.

DiDaniels brings to Shore Bancshares more than 20 years of human resource experience where she held a variety of positions including Director of Human Resources and Senior Human Resources Consultant.  In her most recent position, Marie was the Director of Human Resources for Westside Family Healthcare in Wilmington, Delaware where she was responsible for improving practices, policies and systems which included serving on a Strategic Planning and Safety Committee.  As Senior Human Resources Consultant, she worked on various projects to provide strategic direction for change management, talent management, succession planning, staffing and executive coaching.

Wood joins Digital Eye

Caitlin Wood joined Digital Eye Website and App Development as a digital designer. She is an expert with WordPress, HTML/CSS, and responsive design. She received a BFA from West Chester University where she studied Graphic Design and Web Technology. She also specializes in icon design and user experience development.

First State Manufacturing names HR director

First State Manufacturing, Milford,  announced that Kim Taha has joined the team as Human Resources Director. First State Manufacturing provides   upholstery and cut and sew services to the U.S. military, municipalities and a broad array of commercial customers.

Nanticoke Physician Network adds director

Nanticoke Physician Network (NPN) announced that Lara Hudson, BSN, RN, has been named Director of Clinical Operations. In this position, Hudson will be accountable for overseeing the NPN Care Coordination Program, Data Analyst, Employee Health Care Coordination, and the EHR outpatient system to provide a smooth transition of care for the patient.

She started her career at Nanticoke in December 1999 as a CNA at Life Care while pursuing her RN degree. In 2001, she transferred  to  the Emergency Department as an ER Tech and graduated with her RN in 2003. Hudson also worked in PCU and at the Georgetown Primary Care office and received her BSN from Wilmington College before moving into NPN Administration in 2011.

In this department, she has served in several positions including EMR Administration and Manager of Clinical Programs. She is set to graduate with her Master of Science in Management – Healthcare Administration from Wilmington University next June.

Beebe Medical Center physician named to board

Dr. Katrin Arnolds, an OB/GYN at Beebe Medical Center and previously at Cleveland Clinic Florida, has been selected to join the Physician Board at the American Health Council. Arnolds will be sharing her knowledge and expertise in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

She became involved in medicine because of her passion for women’s health. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery from adolescents to adults from pregnancy through menopause. After receiving her medical degree from Saarland University in Germany, she utilized her knowledge and expertise of obstetrics and gynecology to specialize in female pelvic surgery performing surgery on the uterus, fibroids, cysts and endometriosis.

In 2009, Arnolds received her medical degree from Sarlaand University. Subsequently, she pursued her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Miami in 2010. In 2016, she completed her two-year fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Florida in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

Arnolds is actively involved with The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is a non-for-profit professional membership organization dedicated to the improvement of women’s health.  She is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

In 2014,  she was awarded with the Mary J. O’Sullivan Award for excellence in performance in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Subsequently, she was a recipient of the 37thAnnual Helen Lansman Award Resident who has shown the greatest compassion towards patients. That year, Arnolds was also honored with the William A. Little Alumni Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, First Place Resident Presentation Award.

Beebe Healthcare names manager

Beebe Healthcare announced that Elizabeth Richardson, MSN, MPH, RN, has been named Infection Prevention Manager.

Richardson earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C., her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master of Public Health degrees from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Before her nursing career, Richardson worked at, and remains a consultant, to the ECRI Institute where she developed and led many projects related to the evaluation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.

She has been with Beebe since 2006 and has worked in Cardiac and Vascular Services, and in more recent experience, the Infection Prevention Department. Throughout her course at Beebe, Richardson has demonstrated and applied her expertise in research to develop and implement evidence-based staff and patient education programs and materials.

Hyatt Place adds sales manager

The Hyatt Place Dewey Beach announced the newest addition to its growing sales team.

Lindsay Odenwelder has joined the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach as a Sales Manager. Odenwelder will oversee the booking of inside sales and procurement of new accounts. She joins the team having sales knowledge of the local resort area with a background in wedding and event planning, effectively tripling wedding bookings in her previous endeavor at the Atlantic Sands Hotel in nearby Rehoboth Beach.

Additionally, she helped effectively procure new business in the form of corporate bookings, government and private reception business, helping to drive a growing portfolio.

Odenwelder developed her extensive experience in the catering and banquet field having previously been a Banquet Manger at Wild Quail Country Club in Camden.  She was responsible for obtaining new business, booking and operationally managing meetings and events by developing banquet orders and directing banquet staff. Odenwelder crafted her hospitality event management experience by previously serving as the Special Events Manger for Dover Motor Sports at Dover International Speedway.

Patterson-Schwartz adds associates

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Jermaine Johnson to their Greenville office as a sales associate licensed in Delaware. He has a background in sales and has co-owned an event planning business for the past 15 years. He is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors.

Before obtaining her real estate license, she led a career spanning 39 years in the local education system where she served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent. She earned her BS and MEd from the University of Delaware, and pursuing doctoral work at Widener University.  She is a member the New Castle County Board of Realtors.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Joe Santo to their Middletown office sales team. Santo who studied at Wilmington University is licensed in Delaware with three years of experience in residential real estate sales. He is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors.
