Glenn heading DuPont Crop Protection

DuPont has named Timothy P. Glenn as president of its Crop Protection business effective October 1, succeeding Rik Miller who has elected to retire after 31 years of service. Glenn will report to DuPont Executive Vice President James C. Borel.

Glenn has served as vice president, Integrated Operations & Commercial Effectiveness with DuPont Pioneer. Glenn also was regional business director for Canada and Latin America, and director, Marketing & Sales Effectiveness for North America. Prior to joining DuPont, he held a series of business, sales and marketing leadership roles with Dow AgroSciences. Glenn earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Miller began his career with DuPont in 1984 and held several business leadership roles in Crop Protection.  In 2010, Miller served as regional director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Crop Protection in Geneva and was appointed president, DuPont Crop Protection in 2011.

Lee named DuPont Protection  Technologies president

DuPont has named Rose Lee as president of its Protection Technologies business effective October 1, reporting to DuPont Senior Vice President Marc Doyle.

Lee has served as global business director, DuPont  Kevlar and Aramid Intermediates. Prior to DuPont, Lee was vice president and general manager, Innovative Materials, for Saint-Gobain Corporation.  She has held business and functional leadership roles at Saint-Gobain, Booz Allen & Hamilton and the Pratt & Whitney division of United Technologies.

Lee served as a member of the Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Inc.

She holds a B.S. degree in Engineering from Cornell University, and an M.S. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Stephano Slack names CFO

Sephano Slack LLC, announced William S. Covert as Chief Financial Officer. Covert will be based in the firm’s Wayne, Pennsylvania headquarters.

Covert is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting and financial functions of the firm, as well as leading and managing M&A strategies and corporate finance activities, and maintaining relationships with various external entities including vendors.

Covert held financial executive positions with Siana Carr O’Connor & Lynam, LLP where he served as a Tax Consultant and Personal Financial Planner; Eagle Energy Systems, Ltd. where he served as Chief Financial Officer; and Davidson Trust Company where he held the concurrent executive positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Bloomsburg University. Covert is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant and has earned the Personal Financial Planning Certification. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Covert is also active in the community and serves as Treasurer of St. Maximilian Kolbe CYO in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Bayhealth named chief information officer

Bayhealth announced the appointment of Richard “Rick” Mohnk, to the position of vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Mohnk brings with him almost 20 years of experience working as a CIO.

Mohnk joins Bayhealth from UMass Memorial Health Care in Massachusetts, where he served as the associate CIO since 2011. Prior to that, he served as the vice president, CIO, for 10 years at HealthAlliance Hospital in Massachusetts. Mohnk has a master of science in administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor of science in medical technology from Saginaw Valley State University.

In his role, Mohnk will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s information technology and systems, including technology infrastructure, data governance, strategic planning project management, information management, and business analysis. He will work collaboratively with members of the senior management team.

Gregory named Safety Association president

Delmarva Power senior safety coordinator Robert “Buzz” Gregory has been named president of the Delmarva Safety Association (DSA) for 2015-17. The DSA is a non-profit organization that works to reduce injuries, occupational illnesses and economic losses in the workplace and communities on the Delmarva Peninsula through education, promotion and advocacy in safety.

Gregory becomes the first-ever Delmarva Power employee to serve as president of the DSA board of directors, which is composed of business owners, managers and safety officers from across the Delmarva Peninsula.

Gregory joined Delmarva Power in 1985 and entered his current safety role in 2007 after working as a lineman for 22 years. Gregory is involved in an array of community activities including serving as pastor of the Delmarva Evangelistic Church and as sectional commander of the Royal Rangers on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The DSA was founded in 1977 and follows its mission statement: “Through education, promotion and advocacy in safety, DSA reduces injuries, occupational illnesses, and economic losses

Oliver named Robertson Professor

Matthew Oliver, an associate professor in University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, has been named the Patricia and Charles Robertson Professor of Marine Science and Policy.

The endowed chair, funded through a  gift from UD alumna Patricia Robertson and her husband Charles, is meant to reward exceptional young faculty talent.

Oliver, who joined the UD faculty in 2008, is an expert in using underwater robots and satellites to examine how organisms use marine environments, and in studying the impact of climate change on ocean processes. In recent research, he used unmanned underwater vehicles to track the migration patterns of penguins, sharks and sturgeon, work that has implications on ecology and conservation.

He also is an inaugural member of the Robotic Discovery Laboratory, which opened in August 2014, and houses unmanned underwater and aerial vehicles (UUVs and UAVs) to carry out a broad range of research missions.

He is a recipient of the Sloan Research Fellowship, and in 2013, he was named a National Academy of Sciences Kavli Fellow.

Oliver joined UD as an associate professor in 2008. He earned his doctoral degree in oceanography from Rutgers University’s Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences in 2006.

He conducted post-doctoral research at Rutgers University funded through the NASA Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) program. He completed a bachelor’s degree in ecology and systematic biology (summa cum laude) and master’s degree in biology (highest honors) at California Polytechnic State University in 1999 and 2001, respectively. Oliver previously earned an associate degree at Cerritos College.

Robino joins real estate firm

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Brandywine Office, announced Chas Robino has joined the firm as a Sales Associate. Robino has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Previously with Frank Robino Associates, a third-generation business, Robino was a builder and land developer and assisted in the marketing of more than 30,000 new construction homes. A relocation specialist, Robino is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors

Easter Seals names board members

Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently announced Rob Hemmen, of Seaford; DE, Kathleen Matt, of Newark, DE; and William Short of Chestertown, MD, to its Board of Directors.

Hemmen, is District Governor for Rotary District 7630.  He is a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel having the pleasure to serve as both an aviator and an infantry officer. He is currently the plant manager for Craig Technologies, which has it operations located in Seaford, DE.

Matt serves as Dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance (DHSA) and co-director of University of Delaware’s health education partnership with Thomas Jefferson University. In addition, Matt has done extensive community service, including work for health-related organizations serving women, children, and seniors.  She currently serves on the Delaware Health Care Commission, the Governor’s Council on Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Delaware Health Information Network, and the Mental Health Association in Delaware.

A U.S. Army veteran, Short was born in Chestertown and is a member of the Board of County Commissioners in Kent County, MD. He co-owns Creative Treatments, Inc. with his wife Donna.

Wilmington Trust adds three

Wilmington Trust is expanding its Global Capital Markets Structured Finance Group with three new hires of corporate trust industry veterans. Rick D’Emelia was hired as a business development officer, Ben Jordan as head of transaction management, and Steve O’Neal as asset servicing manager.

D’Emelia will develop new client relationships, while maintaining current client relationships in the capital markets structured finance industry.

Jordan is responsible for developing and closing new ABS and MBS transactions within the Global Capital Market division.

O’Neal oversees the asset servicing products within the Global Capital Markets Structured Finance Group.

O’Neal served as a managing director in BNY Mellon’s corporate trust division, where he was responsible for managing multiple product lines.

O’Neal received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.

He is a certified public accountant licensed in the state of Texas.
