Upcoming College Visits

All college visits take place in the Guidance office, unless otherwise noted. In order to meet with a college rep, you must register for the visit through your Naviance account and notify your teacher at least one day before the visit. You may show your teacher your iPad with the registration on Naviance as your pass. Remember, you are responsible for any work you miss during your visit with the college rep.

Thursday

-9:00-9:30am: St. Catherine’s University

-10:15-11:15am: Macalester College

-11:00am-1:30pm: Army & Army Reserves (Florance Center)

-12:30-1:30pm: DePaul University

Online Learning Day Today

​Today is an online learning day. Students do not need to physically report to school but should check Canvas, as teachers will share their activity by 9am. You can expect 20-30 minutes of activity for each class. Teachers will be available at various times throughout the day to respond to questions. This online learning day helps us practice how learning will occur should DeLaSalle have to implement an alternative school day in the winter due to inclement weather.

Cookies with the Counselors Tonight

​Parents, learn more about DeLaSalle’s college advising program from our school counselors while enjoying cookies. Tonight at 6:45pm in the Guidance office. This is an encore of the same presentation from late September.

Volleyball Sections Start Tonight

​Volleyball sections start tonight – De is the #2 seed and we host #15 seed Fair tonight at 7:000pm. Remember that everyone, including students, must pay for sections. $8 for adults, $6 for students/seniors.

Early College Awareness for 9th and 10th Graders Tomorrow

​What classes should you take in 9th & 10th grade?  How many AP classes?  What is a 529 Savings Plan?  Who receives scholarship monies?  What is an ideal GPA?  It’s never too early to plan for college.  College preparation means being ready academically and financially. Now’s the time to prepare!  Please join us tomorrow at 6:30pm in the Robert Casanova Room to ask questions and review building a solid foundation for college prep timeline.

Ninth Grade Movie Night Friday

​Freshmen, mark your calendars for the night before Halloween for a 9th grade movie night. Join your friends for a showing of “Monster House” at 7:00pm in the LL Gray Gym. The movie should be done by 9:30pm. Student Council will provide free popcorn and Halloween candy. You may purchase pop and water. Admission is $2 (or only $1 if you also bring a canned good).

ONYX Step Team Meets Friday

​Like what you saw during Diversity Week!? The first Step Team practice/informational will be held Friday at 7:30am in the Robert Casanova Room. We will discuss the season, practice schedules, expectations, financial obligations and start learning the basics of stepping. If you are interested or just want to know more, please join us at this first practice! The cut off for joining the DeLaSalle ONYX Step Team will be Tuesday, November 24.

Respect Life Month Enters Final Week

​What’s the bottom line? These babies need lotion, wipes, and bottom cream. Oh, what a difference your donation can make! Our Drive for the Little Ones ends this Friday. Bring items to Lasallian Ministry all month.

Clean Out Athletic Lockers

​Students who played a fall sport that has ended should clean out their athletic lockers by this Friday. Student Activities staff will clean out any lockers after October 30. Any unclaimed items will be held in lost and found for some time before they are donated to Goodwill. Student athletes should remove their lock and hang it on the grate of their locker. If you are a 9th grader in PE, you can keep your same athletic locker until the end of the semester.

Halloween Alternative Fall Bash

​Teen Ministry at the Wells Church, a non-denominational church in Minneapolis, is sponsoring an event for youth ages 13-19 on Saturday (Halloween) at 7pm. The event includes free food, video game tournaments, a talent show, cash prizes and a concert. Both, the video game tournaments (Mario Kart & NBA 2K) and talent show are for cash prizes adding up to $200 in possible winnings. Please email ryan.watkins@lwcc.org to sign up to compete in either competition. The concert will be hosted by Christian hip-hop artist Tru-Serva. Tru-Serva is a local artist most notable for his performances at Sunshine Music Festival one of the largest Christian music festivals in this area. The Wells is located at 627 12th ave S Minneapolis 55427. All are welcome to come to this free event.

Christian Service Opportunities

​Here is an upcoming opportunity for you to earn Christian Service hours:

Lasallian Ministry is sponsoring two opportunities this Wednesday and Wednesday, November 4 immediately after school to assist elderly people with yard work and house chores.  The time is 3:15-5:15pm.  Please e-mail Ms. Hodapp if you are interested in either or both days.

Lose Your iCloud Folder?

​If you updated to iOS 9 and your iCloud folder disappeared from your GoodReader…go to your settings and select iCloud. You must turn on iCloud Drive by upgrading to iCloud Drive. Once you do this, your folder will appear in your GoodReader again.
