Ski Club Skis Today

The Ski Club plans to go skiing at the Hyland Hills Ski Area after school. A bus will leave from DeLaSalle after school at approximately 3:30pm and return around 8:00 pm. In order to attend each student will need to sign up using this Google form, and obtain a liability waiver form from the Student Activities office and return the form with a signature from one’s parents to the Student Activities office. Each student is responsible for their own lift ticket and any other equipment necessary. Each student is allowed to bring their own gear which can be stored in the Student Activities office, or they are able to rent gear at the ski hill. A lift ticket is $19, ski or snowboard rentals is $17, and a helmet is $8. Please see Adam Pribyl in the Student Activities office with any questions.

Scholarship Opportunity for Juniors

The DeLaSalle Alumni Association Legacy/Farrell Scholarship is offered to juniors who have had at least one relative graduate from DeLaSalle. If you are granted the scholarship, it will be credited toward your tuition bill during your senior year at De! The application will be available today through February 17 at 4pm. All juniors will receive a link to the scholarship in their Islander Student Apps e-mail account. If you have any questions, please contact Alumni Relations Coordinator, Jessica Luckett.

De Parents in Prayer Meets Monday

De Parents in Prayer, a Parent Association-sponsored group, meets in the Florance Center Monday from 8:30-9:30am. The group gathers monthly to lift up the school community in prayer. Students, staff, and families may place prayer requests in prayer boxes in the Lasallian Ministry office, Main Office, and Theology classrooms. Requests may remain anonymous.

DeLaSalle Identifies Additional Student Parking Option

DeLaSalle and 301 on Main have reached an agreement that will allow students to park in the event center’s parking lot during school days. The parking lot is located at 301 NE Main Street. Students must purchase a parking permit in order to park in the lot. Permits cost $110 and are sold in the Business Office.

These supplemental permits are specifically numbered and assigned to the buyer and are for the parking lot at 301 on Main ONLY. These permits are NOT valid in any of the DeLaSalle parking areas during the school day. Students MUST remove their vehicle from the 301 on Main parking lot by 5:00pm each day or risk being towed by building management.

DeLaSalle will provide shuttle bus service each day between the 301 on Main parking lot and the school. The morning shuttle will leave the parking lot at approximately 8:15am. The afternoon shuttle will leave from the front of DeLaSalle at 3:15pm.

Christian Service Opportunity

Touchstone Mental Health, a nonprofit located in South Minneapolis (off Highway 55 and Cedar Ave) that provides a variety of mental health services to over 1,800 adults annually., is looking for volunteers to help conduct a phone satisfaction survey with clients. Clients receive advance notice about the survey and know they will be receiving a phone call. Staff will be available to sign off on student volunteer hours.

We will conduct surveys Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30-7:30pm between January 30-February 2, Feb. 6-9, and Feb. 13-16. Volunteers do not need to participate every evening and can choose which dates will work with their schedules. Contact Kathie Prieve at kprieve@touchsotnemh.org  or call 612-843-2201 if interested.

We will provide refreshments and snacks for volunteers.

My Favorite Teacher

Do you have a teacher who has inspired you and who you think should be recognized? Barnes & Noble is currently accepting nominations for these teachers. Students write an essay, poem, or thank you letter describing their favorite teacher and how that person has influenced and inspired them. Click here for an entry form. Judges will choose the winning teacher and recognize both the teacher and the student at a special ceremony at our store during spring Educator Appreciation Days. Ms. Bryson-Tucker will collect entries until February 22 and then submit them.
