Join us in creating a simple, smooth, and breathtakingly-awesome Onboarding experience for all Unilever New Joiners and their Line Managers. Based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, the Onboarding Specialist for Unilever North America will lead the impeccable execution of our revitalized approach to Onboarding.

Role Details:

As the Onboarding Specialist, your primary accountability is to provide an outstanding customer experience to our New Joiners and the Line Managers hiring them. In this role you are one of the first Unilever employees with which a New Joiner will have contact, and therefore play a critical role in elevating our Employer Brand.

This role is within the North America Human Resources team and will report to the North America Talent Operations Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

• Embed fun, positive energy and support throughout the entire New Joiner journey from offer accept to one year service anniversary.

• Manage and continue to nurture our relationship with New Joiners from the date of offer acceptance.

• Engage with Hiring Managers throughout the process of preparing and landing their New Joiners successfully, including creating calendar reminders and templates behind each step of the journey.

• Manage the deployment of semi-weekly Orientation presentation and corresponding networking engagements.

• End-to-end event management and logistics.

• Senior leader event invitations and presentation preparation.

• Enable New Joiners to quickly learn about Unilever’s culture, employee networks, and ways of working.

• Arm New Joiners with the market, brand, and strategic knowledge they need to make an impact from Day 1.

• Explore innovative technologies and channels for the creation and deployment of onboarding materials.

• Maintain and refresh all Onboarding materials, including internal Onboarding website.

• Partner with IT organization to ensure all aspects of New Joiner system and profile set-up are successfully executed – track and resolve issues with speed.

• Leverage internal network of cross-functional colleagues to deliver on Onboarding vision for both Headquarters-based and remotely-located employees in the US and Canada.

• Provide administrative support for overall Onboarding process.

• Liaise with external vendors to ensure timely completion of candidate background checks and important document return.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of HR, Recruiting, Communications, or Marketing experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Positive energy and engaging presence to match our Employer Brand.

• Exceptional customer service, stakeholder management, and candidate relationship skills.

• Outstanding written, verbal, email, and phone communication capabilities.

• Well-developed bias for action and the sound judgment required to drive results quickly.

Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn and leverage new technologies quickly.

• Strong influencing skills with the ability to provide specific examples of building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

• Must demonstrate a track record of a strong work ethic, proactive problem-solving, excellent follow-up skills, and superior detail-orientation.
