**JOB** **SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION** :

This position is responsible for implementing Division operations training efforts via stand-up facilitation, workshops, e-learning and one-on-one sessions, and for providing non-operational training to staff as requested.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:**

+ Provide just-in-time training solutions aligned with Division goals.

+ Provide training and support to meet all regulatory and safety compliance required by DOT, OSHA and company best practice.

+ Provide and monitor safety procedures in Warehouse and Transportation departments.

+ Identify learning gaps through formal/informal needs analysis and observation.

+ Recommend appropriate training interventions based on needs analysis and performance results.

+ Work with Operations staff to identify individual developmental needs within each department to improve productivity, especially with newly hired teammates.

+ Work with the Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentTeam to provide appropriate training tools, including e-learning modules.

+ Coach teammates toward reaching their maximum performance levels.

+ Provide development and training for Operations and Transportation trainers (Train-the-Trainer).

+ Conduct operational and safety aspects of new hire orientation.

+ Conduct routine route ride and warehouse days with teammates/Drivers to provide an additional communication link between teammates and management and to help improve operations as indicated.

+ Conduct follow-up work with teammates and management staff to ensure retention of skills learned.

+ Monitor e-learning completion rates and training activities to meet target completion goals.

+ Work with management staff to identify learning challenges to better serve teammates.

+ Monitor a Learning Management System (LMS) database to ensure accuracy in reporting and teammate assignments and to adhere to audit requirements.

+ Participate in Safety Committee meetings.

+ Generate and distribute e-learning reports in a timely manner, generate ad hoc reports as required during Division audits and assist with interpretation of the reports.

+ Liaise with the Leadership & Organizational Development Team to stay abreast of any new regulatory/compliance requirements and company best practices that are—or need to be—incorporated at the Division level.

+ Work with Learning and Development Manager to ensure changes are made and communicated.

+ Use e-learning, LMS and PeopleSoft tracking tools to maintain accurate, updated records of all training activities.

+ Establish and develop processes/best practices for scheduling e-learning and other training.

+ Contribute regularly to internal communication efforts (i.e., division newsletter, Merit Magazine articles, open enrollment, teammate surveys, policy changes, etc.) to ensure consistency in message and delivery.

+ Implement performance improvement training to support departmental goals.

+ Assist in writing training materials and/or act as subject-matter expert in curriculum development projects led by the Leadership & Organizational Development Team.

+ Comply with company work and safety rules.

+ Continually meet assigned production standards.

+ Follow directions.

+ Work independently and in a team environment.

+ Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Distribution Center; work schedules may require working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, and weekend work depending on the customer and operational requirements of the division.

+ Periodically work in warm and cold temperature conditions that may range from 38°F to 110°F.

+ Periodically stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head as needed.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS** **:**

A teammate in this position must:

+ Have Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, or related field.

+ Have 3 years experience, working knowledge or exposure to learning and development strategies.

+ Have hands-on experience in training, learning and development, and coaching in a diverse environment.

+ Possess knowledge of adult learning theory.

+ Demonstrate exemplary platform training skills and public speaking ability.

+ Preferably have a working knowledge of a Learning Management System.

+ Have a working knowledge of various office automation tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, others as required).

+ Be able to identify and work through problems and conflicts in a clear and diplomatic manner.

+ Be able to effectively and efficiently review and interpret data, transactions, policies and business practices.

+ Be an effective communicator (verbal and written) with teammates at all levels.

+ Be comfortable working in diverse and fast-paced environments.

+ Be able to make sound decisions that have a positive impact on bottom line.

+ Have effective organization and time-management skills.

+ Be able to successfully pass education/experience verification.

+ Ability to enroll, participate and pass industry required standard testing.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:**

+ The environment encompasses an office and all areas of a Distribution Center; material movement takes place throughout the facility.

+ This position requires the teammate to work inside and outside the facility.

+ This position may require work in hot and cold temperature extremes and exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmful chemicals, solvents and components, and working in close to proximity to other teammates.

+ Closed-toe shoes must be worn when working in the warehouse.

+ This position involves occasional travel.
