**The Opportunity:**

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics a global company, is recruiting for an **Global Lab Automation Support Specialist (LASS)** position. This position is work from home.

**The Responsibilities:**

The **Global Lab Automation Support Specialist (LASS)** works independently; receives minimal guidance and acts as the project lead to ensure the successful implementation of lab automation systems and Middleware solutions in the Clinical Laboratory environment globally. During the sales process the LASS provides subject matter expert support which requires in-depth knowledge and experience with the core Instrument Manager SW and the additional IM SW Modules as well as the track hardware/software and analyzer operation and interaction. This position also requires a full understanding of laboratory work flows in order to collect system configuration requirements and making recommendations to ensure full utilization of product offering to meet customer needs.

During the implementation phase the Global LASS leads the project team, creates and maintains the project plan, assigns tasks and monitors task completion and reports overall project progress. Also acts as a resource and trainer for colleagues with less experience. The LASS is responsible for driving and managing complex system implementations and solving complex problems and if necessary taking new perspectives using existing solutions. The LASS is overall accountable for a successful Operational Qualification (OQ) and ensures that customer is able to perform a successful and smooth Performance Qualification (PQ) as end to end test before handing over to the local (expert) support team upon project completion.

Throughout the product lifecycle the Global LASS acts as the subject matter expert for Hardware and/or System configuration upgrades and provides system configuration support together with the Technical Solution Centers and local support (expert) team.

The Global LASS has the ability to articulate clearly all technical details to customers and other audiences in a timely and appropriate fashion. The position interfaces with various groups including sales, Ortho Care teams, regulatory and Business Field, as well as supplier partners.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

+ Provide sales support in order to understand and define the scope of the individual Lab Automation projects

+ Project Management - acts as the implementation project lead to ensure all aspects of the project are completed to achieve the successful implementation of the lab automation system in the Clinical Laboratory environment and ensure customer satisfaction.

+ Be the SME for the Lab Automation and Middleware SW product internally and externally. Collect specifications and builds, verifies or modifies system configurations to ensure customer needs. Ensure that specifications are understood and project timelines are understood and meet customer expectations

+ Executes or supervises the execution of the on-site testing procedures and is responsible for the Operational Qualification (OQ) and ensures a successful Performance Qualification and trains customer on basic system operation

+ Communicates effectively to customers, local (expert) teams, Global LA Implementation Team, Sales and Business Field team, and reports active and proactive to LA Project Manager Supervisor

+ Stays current with all administrative responsibilities, up to date with training courses to ensure compliance

+ Provide various levels of technical expertise including developing tools, writing/reviewing/developing procedure drafts, test protocols, and training materials as needed

+ Trains employees

+ Plans work of others

+ Reviews work quality and quantity of others

**The Individual:**

+ A BS degree or equivalent

+ A minimum of 2 years in a laboratory environment experience on advanced level in Lab Automation as an IT/SW Application Specialist, Lab Specialist, Medical Technologist, in-house tester

+ Strong Project Management skills or being certified as (PMP) or equivalent or ability to obtain such certification

+ Strong experience in (preferably IM) Middleware SW Applications and LIS Interfacing

+ Strong Knowledge of Lab automation and IVD analyzers

+ Familiar with Process excellence and best practices

+ Computer software, Network technologies (MCSC certification desirable), Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software

+ Familiar with all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook) user level required, developer level desirable

+ Familiar with AutoCad, Visio or equivalent Layout programs

+ Ability to travel up to 70% as needed. Extended Hours may also be required. Working outside normal office hours during specific circumstances such as on site testing may be required.

+ Experience working in a highly regulated environment.

+ Fluent in English and preferably one or more other languages

+ A valid driver's license and clean driving record and passport (or ability to obtain one) is required at a
