: Landscape Manager, Global Apps

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job:

Unilever has a large number of global applications and associated landscapes (here the term ‘Landscape’ refers to application instances and accompanying technical infrastructure). Furthermore new functionality distributed amongst existing and new landscapes is added continuously and often implemented through global project initiatives. Therefore the size and user basis, the complexity and the dependency between the system components are growing.

The LandscapeSMEs play a critical role in terms of retaining landscape specific knowledge, acting as a template gatekeeper for resilience, partnering with local and global project teams to ensure designs fit to the landscape, global designs and landscape gaps are worked out in detail and implemented, the landscape is kept well performing and healthy through functional checks, continuous improvements, technical projects in relevant area. Landscape SME is also responsible for coordinating run escalations for complex incidents, issues to achieve target uptime levels for the landscape.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

:

Collaborate with Infrastructure Management team for governance of thevarious infrastructure / environment tracks (Development, Support etc.) and constituent instances (Dev, QA, Pre-prod, Prod etc.) along with the accompanying technical infrastructure (henceforth collectively referred to as the Technical Landscape) of global applications

He/She is responsible for governance of technical landscape of the application including planning, execution and maintenance.

He/she should ensure complete understanding of the technical landscape prior to the application being transitioned to service and establish the landscape baseline documentation.

He/She should sign off design from landscape perspective and oversight all the build and test activities by the vendor based on that design.

He/She should assess integrated plans for and understand the impact on the landscape and plan the landscape evolution in collaboration with Infrastructure Management accordingly

Application Development and Change Control

-

Landscape Manager has an active role in all projects / changes landing on the respective landscape, tightly coupling with the PMs, global SMEs in that area and is directly responsible for implementation of the projects / changes.

-

He/she is responsible for all the landscape level projects, small projects implemented on the landscape for own area, will sign off and follow progress, deal with issues, escalations, will engage with vendor resources, service delivery, EC (Enterprise Computing team, responsible for managing IT infrastructure), Geography IT, Business Operations and key users when required.

He/she needs to work very closely with global and landscape release management teams in terms of control gates, AD control and approvals for project, act as the main landscape gatekeeper for own area.

He/she is also responsible for putting root cause analysis together for critical BAU incidents for own area with vendor resources and AM teams.

Ensuring Application Resilience

-

Undertake "Keep the Environment Current" activities to ensure the application is up to date with the latest software updates thus ensuring optimum user experience and mitigating security and technology obsolescence risks

Ensuring optimum application performance through proactive performance monitoring measures and suggesting remediation whenever required

-

Ensuring proper quality processes are established and followed for application changes

-

Ensuring compliance with regulatory and Unilever IT security requirements.

Landscape SME should be part of all continuous improvements in BAU, in own area through regular checks, planned services, actions out of root cause analysis..

He/she works with relevant vendor resources, global SMEs, Geography IT, Business Operations and IT infrastructure resources where relevant.

Run Escalations

-

Landscape SME is point of contact for AM teams for run escalations, L3 support on complex incidents, problem tickets for own area. He/she needs to coordinate resolutions of these with the vendor teams.

He/she should govern vendor resources to resolve L3 escalations, measure their performance and coordinate any improvements required.

Knowledge & Experience:-

Previous Role:-

Strong experience in managing a portfolio of applications for ensuring application resilience through

·

Proactively planning for technical landscape evolution based on assessment of changes planned for the application,

·

Real-time monitoring of application performance, identifying issues and suggesting remediation measures to ensure optimum performance,

·

Ensuring timely upgrades for all application components

·

Ensuring highest quality for all changes landing on the application

·

Establishing proper governance around managing security and regulatory compliances applicable for applications

Managing 3

party vendors, contracts and associated cost and budget management

Experience Functional / External:-

Able to draw on experience ofworking in prior projects and programmes and apply to role

Functional Knowledge:-

• Knowledge of domain / business processes in areas like ERP / Supply Chain / Customer Development / Consumer Marketing / Finance / Research and Development etc.

• Knowledge of enterprise application architecture

External Knowledge:-
