ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting an Associate Finance Manager – Global eCommerce Finance within our Global eCommerce Finance Function.

The role of the Associate Finance Manager – Global eCommerce Finance will give the unique opportunity to be part of a high performing Global team and further enhance your financial skills. You will be able to develop core Financial Skills such as Performance Management (i.e Reporting), Financial Modelling, and Analytics as well as Soft Skills in terms of managing senior stakeholders.

This is an exciting time to join the Global Unilever eCommerce Finance team. eCommerce is one of the three main priority channels defined by Unilever and has a stretch growth ambition to achieve by 2020, that is, to become a €4B business. Therefore, eCommerce has become an important area of focus for internal and external stakeholders who constantly track our performance.

Though eCommerce is still a relatively small and a new channel for Unilever it has grown at good pace in the last couple of years. Not only do we need to grow our online business, but also, we need to do it in a profitable way. Finance becomes a key enabler in delivering the Global eCommerce agenda providing support to the business in developing the overall channel architecture (i.e. repeatable models, mid and long term strategies) and capabilities.

eCommerce and digital are clearly going to play a key role in any successful future FMCG business. As such, it will be crucial for everyone in Unilever finance to have a good understanding of the market, model and drivers of this business area. Not only will this placement give the role holder a great opportunity to learn these skills but it will also give them a great platform from which to share these skills and act as a catalyst to the wider finance team as they move through future roles across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key accountabilities of Associate Finance Manager – Global eCommerce Finance the are as follows:

1. Performance Management: Reporting & Analytics

eCommerce results are reported on a quarterly basis. You will

own the delivery of quarterly eCommerce financial results on time and in full with some support from the eCommerce finance manager. Alongside running the current process, given that eCommerce is a new and growing channel there is still much to do to step change the current process (improving automation, insight and speed). This includes:

• Leading the quarterly reporting process to ensure data is submitted on time and in full.

• Track business progress vs. performance KPIs providing relevant analysis and insights on opportunities that could be pursued. This could include preparation of documents / presentations for performance review meetings and ad hoc asks • Liaise with markets and Direct-to-Consumer teams to better understand performance • Leading the engagement with the Enterprise Support Team (ETS) to ensure current Reporting process is streamlined (i.e some areas of reporting are still done manually and should be taken over by ETS team) • Support the Finance Manager and Information & Analytics team in the design and development of Tableau Dashboards to be used by Senior Stakeholders to drive decision making • Support the Finance Manager in the Development of 2017 Reporting Tools. You will lead the project and diligence process with inputs from relevant parties within the organization (i.e. IT, Markets, ETS, Categories, Market Intelligence and Corporate Strategy teams, etc)

2. eCommerce Finance Playbook

The eCommerce Finance Playbook has been re-launched this year. Part of the content needs to be updated and other content needs to be created. You will be responsible for: • Drafting / Updating the “Reporting Guidelines” to ensure the latest process is properly documented on the Playbook given the changes implemented in 2016 and further changes to be implemented in 2017 • Drafting the “Analytics” section that would explain to users what information can be found in Tableau and also provide help and guidance on best practice analytics for eCommerce • Update material proactively but also as requested by Finance Manager / Director

3. Mergers & Acquisition

eCommerce will grow both organically and via acquisitions. The eCommerce Finance Team is heavily involved in the M&A process. You will • Assist throughout the funneling process to identify potential targets. This would include updates to current database, carrying out

research on potential target companies, etc. • Support the eCommerce Finance Manager leading the M&A workstream. Activities could include financial modelling, analytics and preparation of outputs to share with Senior Stakeholders • Assist throughout the due diligence process. Activities may include challenge/ validate assumptions included in the financial model; liaise with markets / brands to better understand target companies

4. Budget Management

eCommerce Finance is responsible for tracking eCommerce and eCommerce finance Indirects budgets. You will be responsible for: • Actively manage eCommerce SVP and eCommerce finance budgets ensuring controls are in place and costs are correctly allocated to cost centres and General Ledger Accounts • Work with the eCommerce SVP and eCommerce Finance Manager / Director throughout the Indirects budgeting process that takes place once a year • Communicate budget adjustments to the relevant parties

5. Other Ad hocs

Support the eCommerce finance manager and Director to deliver other ad hoc pieces or work and proactively identify value adding ad hoc pieces of work to help drive insight globally and push the eCommerce agenda forwards. Examples include: • Production of relevant and insightful eCommerce decks to be used in training of the eCommerce market teams, category teams involved in DTC and wider finance community • Liaison with the markets to understand progress on their key JTBD (jobs to be done) from an eCommerce finance perspective and also help with the less developed markets to effectively prioritize their JTBD. • Building of relevant materials for the eCommerce finance board sessions – working with markets to understand relevant learnings and translate them into meaningful analysis to share with other markets

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Part Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)

Experience in eCommerce or a large global FMCG/similar industry organisation would be beneficiary but not essential • Experience of working in large global/regional/multi-location teams would be useful • Shown success in providing analysis and insights to business managers • Experience with analysis, budgeting and management reporting including proven success in streamlining processes
