Our Vermont Manufacturing team is currently looking for a Quality Front Line Manager to support Manufacturing Activities for our site in St\. Albans, VT\.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the site Quality Manager, the site Quality Front Line Manager supports the implementation of factory specifications, standards and Quality Management System \(QMS\) for food safety, quality assurance and controls in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements\. This key Quality role ensures systems are in place to comply with local regulatory requirements and drives site Quality improvement activities to ensure product consumer safety & overall quality and address consumer / customer issues\. This person will supervise the day\-to\-day activities of the St\. Albans factory QA team to maximize resource effectiveness and utilization and provide technical and supervisory support to all site departments including production, maintenance and facilities as required achieving business goals\.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Supervise the site QA team by providing daily direction and support

* Responsible for completion of performance mid\-year and end of year reviews and ensuring people development, with approval from the Quality Manager

* Help lead the identification, evaluation and resolution of issues impacting product quality and food safety including the completion of routine site inspections\.

* Work with the Quality Manager to ensure the continued implementation of all company quality policies and procedures

* Prepare data, evaluate and work with site manager to determine ingredient and product dispositions\.

* Prepare monthly reports as required on the activities of the laboratory and quality related performance of the site\.

* Provide annual and routine training to employees on quality topics such as methods to comply with GMP’s, Allergen Control and Statistical Process Control procedures\.

* Monitor the production process by reviewing operations control data, respond to and document out\-of\-spec incidents and respond to questions from staff on quality issues\.

* Identify and follow up on corrective actions from both Internal and External Audits\.

* Follow all company policies and procedures such as safety requirements

* Coordinate continuous improvement activities in Quality with direction from WCM department

* Provide support towards consumer complaint reduction and improvements

* Support Quality plant teams; HACCP, Consumer complaint, Sanitation, and RCA

* Help lead the validation and verification for sanitation and allergens all production lines

* Develop and update Quality loss trees and drive actions and follow\-up for improvements

* Partner with Waterbury Quality supervisor to align ways of working in Quality across VT sites

* Co\-Lead Q\-Pillar, Support QM Pillar team at site, develop and roll out all Q points, and ensure compliance with WCM standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily\. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required\.

* Bachelor Degree, preferably in Food or Dairy Science

* Minimum three \(3\) years’ experience supervising a technical staff preferably in a dairy or food environment

* Strong analytical skills

* Excellent math, written and verbal communication skills

* Computer proficiency, esp\. Excel, Word, Windows NT\.

* Flexible, motivated individual with the ability to adapt quickly and effectively\.

* Basic knowledge of ice cream composition, sanitation principles, microbiology and quality assurance policies\.
