The E2E Design Lead role in I&A team is a very critical role in ensuring the end-to-end solution design and architecture is very sound and of high quality and enable business to make decisions based on facts and highly contribute to the I&A strategy and Unilever compass objectives.

The E2E Design Lead is responsible for:

Providing overall technical guidance, leadership, and solid execution of E2E technical design as relates to Information & Analytics Enterprise Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence initiatives.

Leading the Functional and non-functional specifications analysis coordinating with towers and Drive the E2E technical solution design of

multiple, technically comlex, mission critical and/or high profile data projects simultaneously.

Technical Design oversight of overall data warehousing/business intelligence coordinating activities across multiple teams/areas including SMEs, source systems, data acquition, data modeling, reporting/analytics, capacity planning, data quality etc.

Ensuring I&A solutions meets or exceeds Information & Analytics business requirements/SLAs related to Global Data Warehouse/Solutions strategy, One EDW achievement, performance, security, and quality SLAs coordinating with resources from Data Warehouse, Master Data, Front-End and Architecture teams

Main Job Purpose:

Lead end-to-end design from project conception through deployment; managing solution design reviews, project gateway approval, security deployment, and overall solution performance of

Enterprise Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Analytic solutions.

Responsible for business capability projects in functional areas like Supply Chain, Sales/Customer Development, Marketing, Finance, HR that leverage internal and external data and provide advanced analytical capability to business.

Act as the E2E Technical design & architecture liaison and GDS partner for Europe region.

Coordinate TDA tasks to contribute to creation of design standards and guidelines consisting of data extraction, transformation, data modeling, security, performance and reporting coordinating with tower leads and their teams.

Ensure projects comply with Technical Design Architecture (TDA) standards by working closely with TDA E2E Design Lead and other TDA/Core Solution towers’ resources

Design contribution into the overall Enterprise Data Warehouse, Reporting and Analytical architecture ecosystems.

Foresight to identify design risk and/or issues, conduct route cause analysis, impact analysis and derive recommend resolution solutions

Ability to conduct detailed data analysis, gap analysis, and data discovery/profiling.

Manages technical resources across Data Acquisition and Data Modeling domains, schedules End-to-End solution design reviews with core solution teams.

Practical experience translating business functional and non-functional requirements into technical design specifications

Coordinate with SMEs, enterprise data management tower leads, performance and security leads

Serve as a liaison between the business experts/users and the project technical team to ensure the users requirements are understood and interpreted correctly by the technical team.

Serves as primary point of contact for business capabilities and projects to resolve project based data warehousing issues.

Capture high and detail level design documentation with experience presenting to Senior Business SME’s and Technical Leadership teams.

Provide solutions that are of high quality, aligned with functional and non-functional performance,

ETL and reporting, security, data quality requirements.

Responsible for identifying project design estimates, technical gaps, communication, and risk mitigation.

Oversees multiple large complex projects with cross functional teams and business.

Applies broad in depth consumer products business and technical knowledge to establish direction.

Assesses readiness of technical solutions and hardware including systems, tools, technologies, and processes.

Assist Delivery Managers with defining and estimating project proposals and creation of technical project plans and staffing models for the technical design activities.

Recommends, and enforces data and technical solutions, standards, and governance.

Stays current in new technologies/features as well as new opportunities to develop knowledge and staff.

Evaluates various technologies/features as related to Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Data Integration, Data Extraction, Reporting working closely with CTO Lead Architects.

Lead TDA investigations and working groups to create and/or enhance Technical Design standards.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a numerate discipline with

extensive years experience in E2E

design experience in implementation of IT solutions

Several years’ experience in an Information & Analytics E2E technical solution design & architecture role in a large business environment

Extensive years Enterprise Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence,

master data management, Data

Architect, Data Integration and BI solutions design experience

Extensive years translating business and technical requirements into a solid technical design and solution to include architecture diagrams and design documents

Experience driving E2E solution design standards to deliver leading edge BI/Analytics solutions to business that meet or exceed business requirements around data availability, data quality, flexibility, SLAs

Experience working in a large BI programme and driving E2E design standards & guidelines leveraging technologies like Teradata/MPP technologies, SAP MDM, BODS or other ETL tools, MS-BI, Tableau ROLAP solutions on Teradata.

Experience or certifications in Big Data and Advanced Technologies is preferred

Experience working in an international multi location/project programme

Certified in Teradata or other MPP technologies, and/or SAP BI and/or front-end tools

Experience in subject areas like Supply Chain (Order to Cash, Plan/Source/Make) and /Sales is prefeered

Key Skills:

Full life cycle experience in Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Data Integration, and Master Data Management.

Excellent understanding of solutions architectural principles, data integration, data warehousing and reporting/analysis.

Good knowledge conceptual/logical and physical data modeling design and integrated data transformation solutions.

Expertise in Massive Parallel Processing System enterprise data warehousing design techniques and layered architecture principles (Teradata experience preferred).

Expertise in Data Acquisitions design techniques on implementing large scale multi-terabyte solutions with tools like SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS experience preferred)

Expertise in front-end tools performance design tools like Microsoft BI and Tableau (i.e. Tableau experience preferred)

Ability to provide E2E Design Leadership solutions which can be leveraged and consumed at the regional and global level with the goal of creating One EDW.

Expertise in converting business and technical requirements into a comprehensive data design for the warehouse.

Facilitates Data Modeling, Data Integration and Performance working sessions to increase data as asset.

Full life cycle End-to-End design experience in Data Modeling, Data integration, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management, and BI Application development.

Experience in leading the virtual teams for the tuning and optimization both data model and data acquisitions(ETL) to increase overall system performance

Expertise in deploying both front-end and back-end Security design methods taking direction from the security architecture team.

Defines and ensures standards for technology and business process are established.

Ability to lead complex technical data warehouse architecture discussions on modeling, integration, and overall technology solutions and design.

Expertise leading cross-functional project and team discussion and decisions with on/off shore resources in day-to-day design discussions.

Able to technically challenge staffing on complex designs to insure “best practice”.

Ability to stay current in new technologies/features, as well as new opportunities to develop future knowledge.

Evaluates various technologies as related to advanced data warehousing tools and components.

Ability to lead large virtual teams to drive optimal performance design and security architecture/compliance

Functional knowledge of ERP source systems and Customer Development/Sales/Order_To_Cash subject area
