eBusiness Operations Analyst
Position Summary
This
position is responsible for daily management of GS1 trading partners
(Customers, Carriers, Suppliers, Co-packers, Warehouses, Banks, 3rd
Party Providers, Brokers/Distributors & Export) in US, CA, Foods Solution
US & CA. The position has to be able to determine appropriate EDI approach
depending on trading partner and country. The management includes but is not
limited to maintaining the ongoing EDI partnerships, testing/rollout of new
partners, testing/rollout of new transactional functionality and managing
transaction set rollout programs across the trading partner base. This position
interfaces daily with its counterparts within the trading partner base to
ensure consistent transaction integrity and full GS1guidelines compliance. The
position’s principal objective is to ensure viable GS1trading partnerships are
created maintained and result in effective transfer of data into and out from
internal application systems.
Position Responsibilities
1.
Is a Subject Matter Expert in EDI enabling
support of a diverse landscape of trading partners/multiple countries by
overseeing the daily transaction environment. Performing detailed analytical
work, determining and implementing technical solutions for issue resolution,
data flow integrity, audits and controls.
2.
Perform
detailed analytical work, to determine root cause of EDI translation failure
and “translate” to business language understood by internal customers (Customer
Service, Logistics’, Warehousing, Transportation, Supply Management, OOH IC,
Co-packers, DMO, CCD, IT) for resolution in source system.
If required, take lead role with Supply
Chain Capabilities, IT, and internal customer to resolve issue.
3.
Collaborate
with EDI counterparts within trading partner base to resolve transaction and
transmission issues related to GS1activity, rollout of transactions and project
support. Conduct industry analysis to determine potential trading partners for
document expansion programs and assisting in the development of rollout plans.
Develops and leads
mapping development to support rollout of new transactions and new
programs and negotiating with customers as needed to achieve mutual
benefit.
Provide training on new
eBusiness-EDI functionality to team members and other application users.
6.
Develops
and executes testing plans with trading partners and internal resources in
support of moving the transaction to production.
7.
Is
a Subject Matter Expert on GS1 standards and logic requirements to support 38
transactions, EDI relationship with SAP and other processes supported by
eBusiness.
Develop processes and
ongoing functionality to manage internal eBusiness-EDI profiling material
regarding trading partners, trading partner material and Unilever internal
and external eBusiness-EDI documentation.
Represent the NA
eBusiness-EDI perspective in various internal forums, customer meetings
and industry sessions.
Challenges
Managing a diverse
array of time sensitive EDI activities, supporting different businesses in
different countries that properly integrate production support, transaction
development, rollout testing and project support.
Resolve EDI
communication gaps through effective mapping of inbound and outbound data as
required by the trading partner base.
Negotiating with
counterparts within the trade to ensure ongoing changes made by trading
partners can be supported within Unilever and meet the requirements of the EDI
standards
Advance problem
resolution related to EDI data translation and application file interfaces.
Deciding on the right
technical solution to ensure it meets the requirements of the business and EDI
best practices standard.
Extremely close attention to detail and 100%
accuracy in mapping.
Understand and analyze the
strategic impact of daily issues within Customer & Financial Services, CD,
Supplier, Warehouse, Transportation, and Finance capabilities/processes.
Maintaining up-to-date working
knowledge of daily activities within the Supply Chain systems/processes.
Scope
EDI volumes – over 7 million transactions
annually
Currently, 460 EDI Trading Partnerships
(Customers, Carriers, Suppliers, Co-packers, Warehouses, Transportation, Banks,
3rd Party Providers, Brokers & Distributors) are supported.
eBusiness
supports approximately 38 documents for different NA departments/countries and
is facing major development projects in terms of consolidation of the Unilever
business and regions, Value Added Network changes, document development
opportunities and development of eBusiness technologies.
Education & Training:
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Logistics,
Business, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Work Experience:
2-4 years increasing responsibility in B2B/EDI
Sterling B2B Integrator experience a plus
