About this role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on Privacy Professional who wants to be fully engaged with operational team and business partner every part of the organisation in a dynamic environment.

As Global Privacy Manager, you will be responsible for providing privacy compliance and operational support to Unilever brands and businesses as well supporting businesses ( including HR, Information Security and Marketing ) in developing and implementing privacy strategies/processes for local region/countries.

You will support the ability for Unilever businesses across various products, functions, categories (including M&A) to demonstrate compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation in Europe.

The role will work closely with the Data Protection Officers and cross-functional teams and will report into the Global Privacy Officer & General Counsel Data Protection (GPO & GCDP).

Role Responsibilities:

As Global Privacy Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Privacy Programme

• Support Global Privacy Officer & General Counsel Data Protection with developing, documenting, communicating and rolling out the global privacy programme. • Assist in creating and communicating a governance and reporting process related to the privacy programme.

• Assist in the Coordination, Support and Training of DPO Network and Functional Privacy Champions • Assist with creating a governance and reporting process related to the privacy programme. Processes • Assist in enhancing, updating, simplifying and embedding global processes to manage data privacy

(e,g. SAR’s, Data Privacy complaints, Third Party Operational Compliance, Data Breach Management, PIA).

Privacy Automation & Technology

• Assist in creating and embedding tools to automate privacy (e g., FAQs, Layered Privacy Notice, Data Protection Reference Tools).

Investigations & Incidents

• Coordinate and support local Data Protection Officers with privacy investigations/complaints and data incidents, including remedial actions.

Business Partnering

• Assist with Privacy business partnering for HR and all new M&A deals. (e g support, review and create onboarding processes for digital transformation programmes in HR. M&A Privacy compliance reporting). • In conjunction with other Privacy Team members provide training, support and guidance to all agencies and marketers on completing the PIA

• Assist with operational Privacy business partnering for Information Security, providing support and input into Info Sec projects (i.e., Personal Data Project, Third Party Assurance Project). Co-ordinate with the Data Protection Counsel to provide combined legal and operational support

EU Compliance Assessments

• Assist with on going EU Compliance Assessments (GDPR Readiness testing) across all countries in the EU to monitor compliance against the requirements of the GDPR (including operational reviews of marketing, HR, Research & Development, CEC, M&A use of personal data).

• Supporting EU businesses to develop, revise, refine and implement policies, processes, and technical and organisational controls to support the strategy that ensures compliance with the GDPR.

EU Privacy Compliance

• Maintain a reporting tool

( e g Nymity/Synergi ) and support training DPOs on completing privacy assessments.

Support Privacy compliance and auditing framework for EU businesses.

Essential experience, skills & qualifications

• Experienced operational Privacy professional

preferably having completed a Certificate of International Privacy Professionals (CIPP) • Demonstrable experience of implementing and managing Data Protection programmes.

• Able to interpret legal and privacy programmes • Experienced stakeholder management skills to manage and deliver on programmes and processes.
