**Job Summary**

Theposition will interface with Manufacturing and Supply Chain for packagingrelated projects including line trials, production start\-ups, VIP, improvingline efficiencies related to packaging as well as resolving documentationissues for specifications\. This position will author packaging specificationsfor primary & secondary packaging for the Hair category\. The position willbe a key contributor as part of Brand project teams in the activities requiredfor regional package development\. As well as interact daily withthe entire Packaging group, R&D, and Supply Chain groups across HPC\. Effective execution of projects is vital totimely product launches for achieving category growth\.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

Manageassigned Package Development projects, with minimal guidance, working withBrand project teams, to meet category objectives and project ship to tradedates\.

Providepackaging options, develop, engineer, test packaging components and modify asnecessary to meet: customer requirements, functional parameters, cost targets,manufacturing & shipping requirements\.

Providetechnical input to package design process and assure package design formanufacturing acceptability, while realizing desirable consumer & Brandpackaging elements\.

Developand obtain information to approve packaging components plus write and issuepackaging specifications and documentation, within required timelines\.

Delivereffectively in a cross\-functional team environment by working with globalPackage Development counterparts, suppliers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Brandteams

**Key Requirements**

**B\.S Degree \(Packaging Science, orEngineering equivalent\) with 3\.0 GPA or above and minimum of 2\-3 years’** PackageDevelopment and/or Engineering or related Supply Chain experience\.

Knowledgeand basic technical competence in fabrication of plastic components: Injectionmolding & Blow molding along with Technical competence in package materialsconverting & decoration: Labels, cartons, films, tubes etc\. Supply Chainknowledge related to packaging filling lines and Packaging QA\. Along with workingknowledge of the nature and behavior of thermoplastics\. Knowledge of theimpacts of master batch colorant in plastics\.

Must have demonstratedunderstanding of package development process and engineering principles\. Andability to design and develop primary and secondary packagingcomponents, with minimal guidance, that meet consumer, Brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives\.

Must haveoperable computer software skills: Word processing \(Word\), Spreadsheets\(Excel\), Presentations \(PowerPoint\), email\(Outlook\) Interspec system experienceand knowledge of packaging process related to BOM’s and specifications is aplus\.

Effectiveverbal & written communication skills\.
