I never thought in 2012 that Aimee and I’s Degrassi fansite would last more than a month, much less seven years. When we created Degrassi Source, we were two bored college kids who lived miles away from each other and were looking for a hobby we could do together. We were both longtime fans of the show, and the Boiling Point had roped us in again. Aimee suggested bringing back her old Degrassi fansite, so Degrassi Source was born.

Degrassi Source when it first opened

Now, Degrassi is sort of in limbo. Next Class was canceled without an official announcement from its broadcasters, the lot that has been home to the Degrassi set since The Next Generation was sold in June, and the cast and crew have moved on.

And we have moved on too.

We still love this franchise and all of our memories with it, but it’s time to officially end this chapter of our lives.

On August 6th, degrassisource.com’s url will be expiring and I will not be renewing it.

It wasn’t the easiest decision, knowing how much time and effort was put into this site, but it’s the right one. We’re both in very different places in our lives now, and honestly the money I would spend renewing the site would be better spent on something else.

While our website will not be left up as an archive, our YouTube channel will remain up.

Thank you to all of you who have visited this site and subscribed to our channel over the years. Knowing that this site was helping you in any way, whether you were looking for news, pictures, or videos to make gifs of has kept us going all this time.

I hope one day that Degrassi will be able to return and comfort and entertain another generation.

But until then, thanks Degrassi. I’ve had the time of my life.
