The end…
Nice concludes the Cote D’Azur road trip, the final stop. After coming from the beauty of Saint-Paul de Vence, Nice felt paled in comparison and definitely more rushed. But as they day went on, everything just fell into place so nicely and made for the perfect 24 hours before a long flight back to New York City.
Where we stayed
Choose a hotel along the pastel colored Promenade des Anglais, a room overlooking the beach with a balcony – pick up a bottle of Paternel in the nearby old quarter.
Where we ate
Olive and Artichaut, a wild card pick because it looked cute (and also recommended by the New York Times) with its open kitchen and simple seasonal menu. It was right around the corner from our hotel and made for the best final dinner to top the trip off.
What we saw
A stroll in the Promenade du Paillon and through the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain on Place Yves Klein.
Where we shopped
We didn’t have much time for shopping, but since our hotel was so close to the old quarter, Agnès B. happened to be down the street, along with a row of nice home interiors stores and a discount pharmacy shop. Early in the morning, there is a big farmers market that is great for stopping by before the airport, strawberries for the flight home.
