The Miami Police Department doesn’t take kindly to its police force doing drugs, so when Detective Reinaldo Cases was tested positive for cocaine back in February they gave him the pink slip. But, according to Cases, he didn’t do cocaine. He rubbed erection cream on his challenged boner, and that topical ointment apparently contained the narcotic in question. But did Miami PD believe him?

Sure, what the hell?

“There is no evidence in the record to show that [Casas] was aware the cream contained a controlled substance,” according to the internal investigation report.

Now, the Miami Herald reported that Casas has his old job back and has been given backpay for all those unemployed months that that dastardly boner cream caused him. His salary is roughly $75K per year.

“Having never knowingly used cocaine, I was baffled, perplexed and confused,” he said. A friend of his, he added, gave him the erection cream “with the advice that it would help him in his sexual liaisons.”

The cream was homemade and had the look and consistency of Vaseline.

Casas’s lawyer says all’s well that ends well with your typical cocaine-mistaken-for-boner-cream case. “Detective Casas is looking forward to resuming his distinguished law-enforcement career with the Miami Beach Police Department,” counselor said, “and putting this unfortunate situation behind him.”
