A THANKSGIVING DINNER
A deaf person was invited to a Thanksgiving dinner
by a hearing friend. No other deaf friends invited him
to dinners in their homes.
There is a choice – decline the dinner with hearing
group and stay home or accept the dinner with hearing
groups and be isolated during the dinner.
Which is best? Not easy decision.

DEAF STUCK AT WORK
A deaf person who wants to win promotion to a better
job and better pay, works very fast with his job tasks.
All the hearing people work at their normal pace with
their job tasks.
The boss told the deaf employee to slow down so that
hearing employees can catch up with him.
The deaf employee refused. As a result, he got everyone
in the office to hate him – and he was not promoted nor
got a pay raise.
Discrimination? Maybe not – he did not listen to his boss
to slow down.

Rene Pellerin’s Corner:
Thanksgiving in America is a huge annual tradition. It a time
to give thanks to many.
In this early tradition, we were thanking the Native Americans
who taught the settlers how to grow food.
For me, as a DeafBlind individual, I am giving thanks to the people
who provide me the support I need.
This includes transportation, interpreting, SSPing and emotional
support.
There are more challenges facing us, DeafBlind, everyday.
Thank you for your support and assistance throughout the year.
Happy Thanksgiving
