Top stories about the deaf:

Dr Dana Suskind, a pediatric surgeon at the University of

Chicago, performed many implants on young deaf children.

Years later she followed up on her patients and discovered

there were CI successes and CI failures. She rationalized

that it is not the CI itself that was the reason, but

language development or the lack of it as the reason

for these successes and failures!

The FCC has selected NTID as a subcontractor with a

video provider to develop better video technology.

An interpreter created a sensation with her interpreting

of Eminem’s Lose Yourself song. Some felt she was making

it all up.

Stealing the show at the Deaf West Theatre’s premiere

Spring Awakening was the appearance of the mysterious

couple – Paris Jackson and her boyfriend Chester Castellaw.

Paris is the daughter of the late Michael Jackson.

A DEAF BANKER COULDN’T HELP THE DEAF

We have a deaf man who owns a few small banks

in the Midwest. He is oral and knows no ASL.

He wants to help the deaf with their banking

needs. But he couldn’t. Why?

Because his board of directors showed no

interest in helping the deaf!

It is sad.

Always same old story with last minute requests

by the deaf.

In the past it was last minute requests for

interpreters.

Now – we are seeing last minute requests for

No matter – very hard to find interpreters

and CART people at the last minute. And if you
