The PAGENAME (B.F.G.) is a weapon appearing late in Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record. It also appears in Case West. It can only be found in the underground, see locations, below. Its appearance is similar to a multicolor shotgun with holes.

The Blast Frequency Gun is a weapon in Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Case West, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It has a total of 50 shots, and can be used to make three highly-effective combo weapons. Combining it with an Amplifier will result in a Super B.F.G. while combining it with an Electric Prod will result in a Lightning Gun. Lastly, in "Case West" it can be combined with an Impact Hammer to create an Impact Blaster.

+

The gun comes with 50 shots and shoots blue waves of noise which explodes heads with a plasma discharge surrounded by an electrical current that kills around 20-50 zombies, but does nothing against psychopaths.fact

This weapon was apparently developed by The Phenotrans Corporation for the sole purpose of safely extracting queens from gas zombies.

+

The official guide states that the B.F.G is a "special weapon engineered to be very effective versus gas zombies."

If this gun shoots at a enemy it will make them vomit, The same thing happens to the Super B.F.G.

+

This weapon can be combined with an Amplifier to create a Super B.F.G.. The Super B.F.G is the the most powerful firearm in the game which has only 15 shots before breaking<ref name="p">{{cite book

Primary: Press the Square or Xbutton button and Chuck / Frank fires a blast of high-frequency sound waves that will burst the heads of gas zombies, killing them. It will knock down regular zombies without doing damage, and cause most survivors and a few psychopaths to bend over and vomit violently for a few seconds.

*This will NOT kill or even damage regular zombies, only knock them down. However, you can always use this if you get in a jam and need to make you way out to heal yourself.

*In Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Mercenaries will use Blast Frequency Guns on Frank. Getting hit by the blast will induce spontaneous vomiting, making Frank drop his weapon and leaving him vulnerable to additional attacks.

*The abbreviation "B.F.G." is a reference a PC game series called Doom, however, unlike in Dead Rising 2 in which the acronym stands for Blast Frequency Gun, the Doom acronym originally meant "Big Fucking Gun" or "Big Freaking Gun" (according to the Doom motion picture the acronym stands for "Bio Force Gun").
